Welcome to Steemit Learning Challenge Season 27 Week#4. In this course we will explore the different Desserts every week, their ingredients, their cooking style, and a food recipe that is the most popular.

Desserts are very important part of a menu specially if we talk about any gatherings, party or event. In fact; Desserts are sweet treats for everyone that bring joy and satisfaction . Desserts are of various flavors, and textures, kinds, offering something for everyone. It could be an ice-cream, classic cakes and pastries and fruity delights, desserts are a delightful way to end a meal or satisfy a sweet tooth. You can add many other Dessertsof your choices, desserts have great power to evoke emotions and imprints lasting memories. Thats the reason any special occasion can't be completed without dessert. With countless possibilities and innovations, the world of desserts is always sweet and exciting to explore.

Desserts From Eggs and Gelatin

In fourth week we'll learn about the desserts which are made from eggs and gelatin. Many delicious desserts have eggs and gelatin as main ingredient . We learn making of these dessert ,ingredients and cooking techniques today.

Here's basic information about desserts made with eggs and gelatin:

Egg is a common ingredient in many desserts, that is used as a binder, leavening agent, and adding moisture and richness. They're often used in custards, creams, and cakes.Flan, egg custard, meringue and tiramisu are some popular examples of egg desserts.
Gelatin is derived from animal bones and ligments . It's used in many desserts and giving them a firm yet wobbly texture. Mousse, fruits gelatin desserts, jell-O, marshmallows and panna cotta are very popular gelatin based desserts.

Flan or Egg Pudding With Caramel Topping

Here I'm sharing most easiest recipe of flan or egg pudding with caramel topping.

Ingredients:

Ingredients
Milk 500ml
Eggs 2
Sugar for pudding 1tbsp
Sugar for caramel topping 5tbsp
Vanilla essence 1tsp

Making:

  • Add 500ml milk in a pan and add two eggs and mixed it well.

  • Then,add 1tbsp of sugar and vanilla essence in it and whisk it well.

  • Add this beaten mixture in clean mold , cook it on double boiler (take a pan with water ,put your mixyure mold in it and cover the mold with lid or aluminium paper and heat it now, flan or pudding doest not cook directly on flame) for 30 -40min or until flan sets.

  • When flan sets take out the mold from pan and refrigerate it forv2-3 hours . Take out flan from mold. Topped it with caramel sauce and srved it cool.

  1. Why eggs are added in desserts?? What kind of texture they give?? .(1Mark)

  2. Make any recipes that you like most from eggs or gelatin, with a detailed step-by-step procedure along with images. (7 Marks)

  3. Do you face any difficulty during making this recipe.(1 Mark)

  4. What are nutritious benefits ofyour dessert? (1 Mark)
