Timothy and David stand inside the dark tunnel, their torchlight was still shaking as they open the old diary. The handwriting wasn't clear since it a diary written for many years, but the note which was inside was really heavy.

The things written in the diary made them to understand that there was one corrupt town official, which suppose to guard the treasure for the community, was the one hiding it underground for its own benefits. Instead to let the treasure help they people, he plan to sell it for his pocket benefits and there were a plan inside the diary that shows how they are going to run away with the treasure. But before he could finish the plan, problem bursted. And the man was disgrace and no one heard anything about him again he vanished, and the treasure too vanish.

Timothy look David.
“Officer, this thing is very serious problem o. If we said it outside, the whole town will scatter.”

David nod, and try to calm down Timothy “We will confirm it first. If we rush to tell people, people can concluded that It's a fake story.”

Next day, they carried the diary to meet Tony, the old man that first told the problem. As Tony see the box and the diary, tears just full his eyes.

“My father was one of the guards that time,” Tony said it slowly. “He tried to stop the town official, but they silence him through power. Since then I do carry the story on my chest after he successfully kill my father secretly. I was just waiting for the right person that has the strength and power to dig it out.”

Timothy feel it very deep. “So it's true that all along. You were suffering this pain for years.”

Tony nod. “Yes. I watch the town suffer too, while the treasure which can help us rot underground.”

David reported the incident to the police headquarters, but he move the steps he took gently. He knows that some people can still have connection with that town official. Soon, the case open again, and the whole town begin to buzzle.

News spread like fire. People rush the fort, some was doubtful, some believe. Timothy garage turn to meeting point, everybody were asking question.

But the real incident busted when the end of the diary reveal that: The corrupt town official wasn't on this plan alone. Some people join him, and planed to took the treasure and share together. Their names was inside the diary very clear.

David read the names. Everybody was shock. Some of the people on the list were still alive, respected, even sitting down too among them.

One of the culprit which heard his name stand, his voice shaking and said. “We did it because we fear outsiders will thief the treasure. But greed entered our heart. Which leads us to betray the town.”

Anger full the hall. Timothy look Tony, the old man was crying quietly.

David raise hand and said. “This truth suppose to heal us, not to scatter us. The treasure is not only gold. It's a reminder that corruption can hide for years, but one day light will expose it.”

Police carry the box to the museum, promise to keep it safe till the issues as been sort out. The diary remain as evidence, and warning for future generation.

Timothy return to his garage, but people didn't see him as ordinary mechanic again. He became hero in the community — the man which hears old man whisper and uncover thriller that hide under the history.

Tony finally smile a little. “My father spirit can rest now. The truth has shown.”

The town celebrated, but with sober heart. However, they all finally realize that the real treasure is not just the heirlooms, but the courage to face the past in the present and sort things out with courage.

So under the centuries‑old fort, mystery that sleep for decades finally breakout. The corrupt plan has been finally expose, the remaining people which were involved confess, and all the people learn that secret can hide, but it won't hide forever.
