"Steemit Challenge s28wk6: Unexpected Chat's True Twist
The afternoon light in the glass of the shopping mall was soft, as if the city's hustle and bustle had stopped a little, while inside the clothing store, Anthony stood silently, turning the label of the clothes over and over with his fingers. Shyness was like a shadow to him, but as soon as he met Tina's eyes, he stopped a little. Tina was a saleswoman, but there was a brightness in her eyes that made someone believe that the world could still be simple. Before Anthony could say anything, Tina smiled; there was hope in that smile.
The offer of coffee at a nearby cafe seemed surprising to Anthony himself, but Tina agreed anyway. The smoke from the coffee cup and the people floating outside the window continued to talk for hours, and in the conversation, they forgot about time. In the conversation, childhood memories, the fear of dreams, and ridiculous failures were all placed on the table, without judgment. As Anthony was leading her to the parking lot, Tina paused and said, "That was amazing." There was a kind of assurance in the pressure of her hand. Dinner next week?Anthony was surprised by Tina's proposal and his heart beat faster, as if he had wanted this for a long time;
The city seemed to be brighter on the day of dinner. The place Tina took him to was not a flashy restaurant; it was an old food shop, where the smell of everyone’s cooking filled the air with stories. In the middle of the meal, Tina said, “I’ve been thinking about something.” Anthony laughed at that, thinking it would be about love. But Tina opened up her dream: a small brand of clothing made by local artisans, honest prices, fair work, and real stories. "You know," Tina said, "people don't just buy clothes, they also buy faith."
Anthony fell silent after hearing this. His own inner secret room opened up; he is a data analyst, but has wanted to be an entrepreneur for a long time. During a walk after dinner, a misunderstanding suddenly arose; Tina thought Anthony was calling her dream a ‘risk’, and Anthony thought Tina was just seeing him as a ‘collaborator’. The air in the park next door grew heavy. They exchanged words. Instead of hugging, distance became a thing.
They stopped talking for a few days. Anthony stayed up all night calculating, Tina stood in the shop, wondering if she had chosen the wrong person. Then one morning, an email arrived in Anthony’s inbox, not from Tina, but from the owner of the old shop. The subject: “Are you interested?” Anthony was surprised. Inside the email were plans, sketches, and one line that read “Tina said you understand trust.”
That evening they met again in the park. Less talking, more eyes, this time the knot of misunderstanding slowly unraveled. Tina said, “I thought you were falling behind.” Anthony smiled, “I thought you only wanted me for work.” Both of them laughed, and a light rain was falling.
Eight months later, a new store opened next to that shopping mall. The name is small, but the meaning is very big. On the opening day, Tina looked at Anthony, and they held hands, just like before. In the crowd of camera flashes, no one knew that their real contract was not written on paper but in the smoke of the restaurant's coffee. Here is the twist in the story: love did not get in the way of business; rather, the trust of the two became the most valuable part of their brand.
I would like to invite my friends @mehwish-almas @tasonya and @meehu to take part in the contest.
