Hey Steemit. Till now, maybe each and every newbie in Steemit may have noticed that currently it's nail biting competition. And of course, most probably, there is no topic that is left untouched. So some people are out of IDEAS and I am one of them (actually, I am was).
Today, I am going to share with you something, awesome, but heart-breaking. As you have already read the title, it is about the mammals that are in danger. There are also other types of organisms that are in danger, but we will discuss about them some other day.
Scientists think that within the next 30 years, nearly a quarter of the species of mammals alive today may disappear, altogether , becoming extinct.

Species in danger are classified into three groups, i.e., vulnerable, endangered and/or critically endangered. Surprisingly as per a census of 2012, 505 mammal species are vulnerable, 448 species are endangered and 188 species are critically endangered.

About 15 percent of European mammal species are in danger of extinction.

As the data above suggests, the no. of species that are facing the danger of extinction is very high (which is of course out of the limits of this post).
So we will discuss about 3 major mammal species that are threatened to extinction.

• The Giant Panda: This is indeed one of the cutest animal in the World. its black and white fur makes it very adorable. This species was spread over the entire China Republic (as per I know). Then it got limited to the South of China. The main reasons for this are (of course), loss of habitat and illegal hunting.

• Rhinoceros: All over the world, many species of the rhinoceros family are facing danger of extinction. The place from where I belong is famous for its One-Horned Rhinoceros (Rhinoceros Unicornis). But illegal poaching destroyed their population. Also, the Rhinoceros species takes a lot of time to reproduce. Due to the ill-knowledge of some idiotic people, who think that the horn of a Rhino has healing abilities, the population of Rhinoceros is in danger.

• The Orangutan: Everyone knows this orange-colored ape, but a few only recognise it. Those who spent there time watching Discovery Channel and Animal Planet are sure to know it. It is found exclusively in the Indonesian islands of Borneo and Sumatra. the main reason of their decreasing population is the destruction of tropical forests and illegal buying and selling of orangutans.
