The Cranberries: The Story Behind "Zombie"

" Zombie" is a song that is still relevant today. Sadly you hardly hear these types of songs anymore. It's not that there aren't songs like this, it's just that they are not "mainstream". Therefore they are not promoted.

The 90s: an era where artists could stand behind what they believe in and show it in their art.
The 2000s: you may have a stand but if it's not a popular "mainstream" view you will be smeared/canceled/silenced.
Most of my friends didn't even know about the new version but we all agree that the lyrics are still powerful today.

It is commendable when people come outside of their bubbles to see the reality of the silent wars of regime change that start with economic sanctions against all those who go against the status quo established by elites. When you look at it goes against the concepts of living free on your own terms and its rather an authoritarian imperialistic behavior. Not to forget the battle of classes in which the lower class is silently removed from society through inadequate education which results in an increase of criminal activities, unhealthy accessible food which leads to a shorter lifespan, demonizing minority groups and so on. Today artists who raise their voices against wars and the lower class are often silenced or demonized on the media. More than often their art is better than what the mainstream is dumping on you to like.

We still have the ability to support them online and we should be sharing their music with each other. You don't have to do it here but just keep it on your mind.
