Shopping Carts In Their Natural Environment

in #writing8 years ago (edited)

Arguably one of, if not the most preferred tool of the supermarket shopper, the humble shopping cart is often incorrectly identified as being in it’s natural environment when seen in the supermarket, or when spotted being loaded up on the back of the trolly-boy’s trailer, before he flies around a corner in his ute, cart trailer rattling dangerously behind him.

I spotted this poor soul on my morning power walk just last Friday

Hundreds of thousands of these "domesticated" shopping carts attempt to break free every week. Only a few of the lucky ones make it. The majority do not. They become trapped, abandoned & forgotten in our urban sprawl.

I will be sharing photographs of some of these poor doomed carts as I see them in their failed attempts to make it back into their natural environment.

I urge anyone else who bears witness to any such attempts at freedom, failed or otherwise to share their photos here.

Let us celebrate the wild urges of shopping carts world wide!

-yeah, we call a shopping cart a "trolley" in Australia

PS. Any reply photos should be your own!
