I would suggest just being patient and just treating Steemit as a hobby than a potential source of income for now. If you want more instant returns, you're arguably better off reading up about SEO, social media marketing and then hosting your own independent blog from which can generate income via ad revenue.

Look I got the first comment from somebody who's not a follower of mine. At least u have taken time out reading my writing. That's what I was talking about. Where are others??
And Yes I came here initially for a potential source of income but over the time I have started falling for this community and earning is not on my priority list of late.
Once I was almost addicted to facebook. I used to write on various topics. No likes, comments or shares. But, more likes, loads of comments in birthday pics, anniversary pics, honeymoon pics, bloody selfies.. I tied to post quality content but nobody has bothered. Then I found STEEMIT.
People appreciate your creativity, knowledge in form of upvotes. It's like u earn while u learn.
And as u said I m being patient enough to understand its functionalities completely. I need to study a lot. There are so many unheard and unknown terms about Steemit.
You need to spend time commenting on the posts that others make -- giving intelligent feedback. That way people get to know you and will follow you. Hang out in different catagories and find posts that are interesting and give feedback in comments and replies to get followers.
@somena Thnx for your valuable advice, suggestion or feedback. I take all those with arm arms and I will definitely try to listen to YOU as you being the matured & senior most user of Steemit.
