CONNECTED EAST IN A GLOBAL VILLAGE
The world today as we all know is usually referred to as a global village, of course a village comprises of people who are closely related by blood when traced down through their ancestral linage. This people speak the same language, have the same culture, the same norms and traditions and also a central governing body. They do things together, live together and understand each other.
Seeing these characteristics which makes up a village, why is the world which is made of up different people, different race, different languages, governments, different cultures referred to as a global village?
Over the year, man has thought a way of connecting to each other in an easy, fast and reliable way. They thought of ways to share their ideas with others without necessarily being where they are and this quest has led to the birth of many innovations and placed a significant mark in technological growth and history.
First in this line was the creation of a mass media kit which we commonly know as radio. It broadcast information at a particular set frequency which is being received by others who tune to that particular frequency. This innovation brought the world a bit closer and information were being passed across easily but the major disadvantage of this system is that system is that visual information were hardly passed across and also how cumbersome and the cost of a radio set was a major hindrance to this system although its still being appreciated today.
To combat this challenge, many other technologies were being introduce like the television station, mobile phone and lot of other print and mass media devices in the likes of computer systems and other sophisticated instruments.
This all brought the world together and made us to easily communicate with each other, it gave us one language and culture and it made us to easily and freely pass information across to each other.
Another great break to the globalisation of the world was the creation of softwares and application which helps to to communicate and keep in touch with each other, see each other and now we almost use the same currency and have the same culture.
We are really living in a global village. A group of people who are united, not by distance but in thought through visualisation of wisdom and achievement of dreams which makes the walls closer than they really are and makes our heart beat a knock in our neighbours door step.
food for thought
Is any technology going to make use see and touch eash other even though we be in a far distance?
If yes, then we are about to move from a global village to a global room
