Magic Dice.

As someone with a bit of gambling history, I was pretty much hooked when I stumbled across MagicDice for the very first time. For several years, I have enjoyed the thrill that gambling gives me and MagicDice was able to connect Steem and gambling. Not everyone endorse or enjoys gambling, and MagicDice seems to have realized that.

They have been able to close the gap between gamblers and non-gamblers with their MAGIC Token and how people can earn them. A non-gambler for instance, can choose to earn MAGIC tokens by Steem Power delegations and/or referrals, meanwhile gamblers can do both of these things and gamble.

MAGIC tokens will be created as SMTs(Smart Media Tokens) when SMTs become available on Steem. Until then, the tokens are only getting distributed, but aren't transferrable or tradable.

By referring a user, you earn 10% of the house edge on all their bets. Additionally you will receive 10% of their bets as MAGIC tokens.

Delegate your STEEM Power to Magic Dice to earn MAGIC tokens. For every 100 STEEM Power delegated, you will receive 100 MAGIC tokens per day.

The House Always Wins!

Even though MagicDice is Provably Fair, transparent and are doing several things to improve the experience for their users, one must always remember that the house always wins. I know that and most gamblers are aware of that too. That is why you should never bet more than you can afford to lose. Even with that knowledge, gambling is rising and spreading like wildfire across the world. The gambling industry continues to prove that it's one of the most vibrant entertainment economies in the world and more and more people are starting to gamble. Many people also becomes addicted to gambling, which is a very unfortunate consequence.

Here's what MagicDice themselves have to say about it:

If you reside in a location where gambling over the internet is illegal, please do not click on anything related to these activities. You must be at least 18 years of age to click on any betting or gambling related items even if it is legal to do so in your location. Recognizing that the laws and regulations involving online gaming are different everywhere, readers are advised to check with the laws that exist within their own jurisdiction to ascertain the legality of the activities which are covered. The games provided by Magic Dice are based on blockchain, fair and transparent. When you start playing these games, please note that online gambling is an entertainment vehicle and that it carries with it a certain degree of financial risk. Players should be aware of this risk, and govern themselves accordingly.

MagicDice recently started to pay out dividends to MAGIC Token Holders and as one of them, I received my share. A total of: 0.586 Steem and 0.008 SBD.

MAGIC dice distributes 40% of the profits to all MAGIC token holders. The dividends are distributed on a daily basis.

This is obviously not much to brag about, but this is based on how much MAGIC Tokens I own. I have accumulated more than 690,000 MAGIC Tokens so far and my next expected payout is at 0.426 and counting.

I talked with Steem's favorite "numbers guy", @abh12345 and got some details from him. I was looking for all the transfers between my account and @magicdice. As we all know, stats don't lie.

I have sent a total of: 25631 STEEM to MagicDice and I have recieved 24555 STEEM.

25631 - 24555 = 1076.

So, even though I have lost a total of 1076 Steem, I have generated 610000 MAGIC Tokens and also received upvotes from the @magicdice account, as they have started to use their Steem Power to upvote users content.

A lot of users encouraged us to use our STEEM Power for the community. That's why Magic Dice now uses all the collected STEEM Power to reward players on Magic Dice. Every time Magic Dice reaches 100% Voting Power, it will upvote a random player who played in the last 24 hours. The voting strength will be determined by a dice roll (1-100).
The more you wager, the higher your chance to receive an upvote.

My 610000 MAGIC Tokens might never be worth anything. That's a risk that any holder of this token have to face, but on the other hand, the outcome might be the opposite too. It might be worth more than I could ever have dreamed of. However, I don't spend time to dream about those sort of things. If it happens, cool. If not, no worries.

What matters to me is, that I am able to enjoy some gambling. That I have a chance of getting upvotes from the @magicdice account and that I accumulate MAGIC Tokens along the way is just a bonus. The daily dividends is also something I consider to be a bonus, and the cool part is, that the bonus if affected by the amount of MAGIC tokens I own.

To me, MagicDice is a fun way to invest (in MAGIC tokens) meanwhile I can enjoy to gamble at the same time.

With all this being said, this article contains referral links and even though I don't recommend gambling in general, I feel that I can promote MagicDice due to the different options they offer for users to be part of their "gambling community". Also, due to the most recent article from @magicdice, I will also resteem that article to get 5000 MAGIC Tokens (minimum) and a shot at 300 Steem. (Everyone with more than 300 followers will get 5000 MAGIC tokens for free and a shot at 300 Steem and 300K MAGIC.)

If you consider to play MagicDice, feel free to use my link, but be smart and don't gamble for more than you can afford to lose. Also, remember that the house always wins in the end.

Magic Doesn't Exist In Gambling...

But MagicDice is close to it.

Sort:

I've delegated 100 SP, but it doesn't seem to be worth much as I don't even get 0.001 Steem for my <1000 magic so far.

The message they send me letting me know I've gotten 100 more magic for my delegation is worth more than my dividends lol. This maybe worth it in the long run, but we will see.

I'd rather earn my magic through giveaways and delegations rather than gambling it away. I'm ok with slower and steadier with less risk.

The message they send me letting me know I've gotten 100 more magic for my delegation is worth more than my dividends

Haha, that's hilarious. :D

I think it might be worth it in the long haul though. Gambling is increasing and MagicDice seems to have made the connection between gambling, crypto and non-gamblers easier and closer than ever before.

So, even though I have lost a total of 1076 Steem

Put down the mouse and step away from the keyboard. 😱

That is the total amount since I tried it out for the first time. I didn't have 1000+ Steem when I started and lost it all. Perhaps I should've clarified that. However, that still doesn't take away the fact that I have lost 1K+ in total, so you are totally right. :)

Jesus that is a LOT of steem!

Do you do regular gambling too?

I'm thinking about doing some each way sniping of value bets... kind of an evolution from matched betting which has made me a few grand risk free over the years.

I don't gamble much these days. I sort of pissed away all my money about a decade ago on all sorts of stuff. I wouldn't say that I was a real addict, but close to it. I'm being more cautious these days, but I still enjoy to gamble.

You should try matched betting. You will get gubbed eventually, but not before you've made a few grand!

Money is always tempting... :D

I'll be honest with u... I'm very happy that the STEEM blockchain finally has one of these casino-like dapps... But it's a shame that all the other blockchains, recent blockchains! had it after a few months of mainnet release and it took STEEM fucking ages to develop one! I mean EOS is just a couple of months old and it had one almost since the start, TRX same thing, VET same thing... STEEM is what? 3 years now? It took 3 years for someone to develop one of these casino-style dapps... we really need to bring more dapp developers to STEEM! I'm happy with Steemmonsters, I'm happy with magic dice, but we still have much more we can do! We can do much more for the development and adoption of STEEM!!

We can do much more for the development and adoption of STEEM!!

That is very true, but I honestly think that this is the beginning for all the future dApps. We will see a lot more dApps in the nearest future, and hopefully, the majority of them will be good enough to stick around for a long period of time.

I changed my degree this year to software engineering or computer science, don't know what the name actually is translated, but let's just say that I'm going to learn how to code and program, one of the blockchains that I want to develop dapps for is STEEM, I just wish witnesses got their act straight, because we all know many of them push bad code forward and vote good code out because they get much more $ by doing this... It's a shame really, we have such a good blockchain but the centralization of SP, spam abusers and flag abusers are screwing it up! Let's see what the future holds, I trust that sooner or later the witnesses will get their act straight and all of this will change, and STEEM will be one of the blockchains paving the way into the future!

I am playing the investor side of this and am considering giving them a delegation instead of gambling as I can easily get addicted to these things. I think it has promise considering how popular these sites are on other Dapp platforms.

Sounds like a very good idea. :)

One of the reasons I've played as much as I have so far, is actually due to the price of Steem. I would never have played as much as I have if the value would've been $5 per Steem for instance. It's easier to take risks when the price is low, even though you still risk the same amount of tokens.

That's one of the negative sides of looking at tokens in $-value as often as I do.
