God save ye, Cloudhead. How do you fare in this fine day? Wonderful, one would hope. As some of you may know, I got engaged last weekend, so I was having second thoughts whether I should post a chapter this week or not. I didn't want to bury that post beneath this was my main reason haha!
Moving on from the pleasantries, we pick up where we left Ledd and his fellow Sachaphoyans. Prito is up to his old tricks, and Lumpia is unimpressed as always. Adobo tries desperately to catch up, even though she doesn't need to. As Lumpia always says, "this isn't a race." Good luck telling Kinilaw to slow down! Sometimes I think that he's forced to put up a tough exterior because he's afraid of being rejected. What do you guys think? Have you ever felt the same way?
Also, what is up with Menudo lying to the gang? Little did he know that everyone, or at least Ledd, is on to him. Could he be hiding something terrifying? It's such a strange coincidence that he lied and didn't join the crew the same day as the giants invaded the town. Hmm...

Wingsuit formation!
No? Jeez ... You guys have really gotten good at seeing past my thinly veiled attempts of misdirection. Okay, okay. I'll come clean.
My name is @jedau, and I'm a professional liar. I tell half-truths to entertain people, and I earn money (well, not for this post, or this whole series in fact) by making up stories. There. Are you happy now?
Anyway, this chapter provides a clearer view of Ledd's life before the Great War. Or, does it? Was this a memory or was this an elaborate ruse orchestrated by the giants to manipulate how he remembered his past? Was this a side effect of the memories he ingested a couple of chapters back? Am I ever going to answer any of these questions?
For the past 20 (wow! :o) installments, I've been spoonfeeding you the information and over-explaining things. In fact, it had been so bad that you've already gotten used to all of my tricks. Well then, allow me to throw you a curve ball!
How about this time I don't supply you with answers? How about that? You might ask "Well, who's Prito?" or "What the hell's an Adarna?" (FYI, it helps if you search for "Ibong Adarna" if you want to get credible results, unless you want your search to come up with pictures of a popular, yet controversial, sexy actress), well you're not going to find answers here!!
Haha nope, it's not that "time of the month." The last time I checked, I still haven't gotten my period. I've been consulting my mother (who's an OB-GYN) and she just looks at me like I'm a joke. This is a serious issue, woman! In all seriousness though, I just wanted to give you guys room to search for all of the Easter eggs I've peppered in this chapter. Minor spoiler, it's filled with tasty tasty references :D
We're 20 chapters into this, so you'll understand if I want to keep things fresh. Comment below the pictures of your favorite reference and let's discuss. Who knows, you might find even more references than I wrote :/

This is a post containing enough riddles to keep Batman guessing for weeks! Is Menudo some kind of spy? Or worse still, their traitor?
But that's a great aspect to your writing abilities. The layers upon layers of depth as that takes a special kind of creativity. I'll be looking out for more clues as the story progresses, man...
Otherwise, hope you're still basking in the blissfulness of being engaged. It's a great feeling when you know your tying the knot with a person you truly believe in 100%. Make the most out of these precious moments of your life. You'll always look back at them with a harmonising fondness in the future.

HAHA! Batman actually had already given up a while back. He said he'd rather go up against The Riddler any day than deal with the shit I'm putting him through haha I really don't know how to take that, so I'm considering it a compliment :D
I really enjoy peppering my work with easter eggs. Since I enjoy spotting them in other people's work, I consider it as sort of a reward for eagle-eyed readers haha!
I think the engagement high will only fade and be replaced on the wedding day itself. Definitely tiring planning everything, but I wouldn't have it any other way. Thank you for the sage advice, brother! I will surely take that to heart :D

And I am still giggling at the thought of you with your period. Ha!! Though there are definitely times when I'm convinced there is such thing as man periods, just without some of the more inconvenient (or painful) physical effects, more the hormonal moody aspects LOL.
I loved the last chapter, and honestly I don't always want to pick a part a story in terms of who might be what, I sometimes just like being entertained without thinking too hard...letting the author do the thinking for me!
I actually opened up your book the other day and then made a decision. Nope, not until I finish it the way I began it. Then I will read it cover to cover, but until then I will practice delayed gratification :)

I do believe strongly that there are man periods, even though I say it jokingly. It's the hormones that dictate it, and our gender isn't free from the fluctuations no matter how much we try to believe that to be true.

I didn't actually make any connection between Menudo's caginess and the giant invasion. The downside of always assuming the best of people. I'd be knocked off right quick in a survival situation I reckon. I figured like Ledd did that he was a bit embarrassed that his lack of practice meant that he would struggle to keep up with his more acrobatic friends. Would have to find out more about Kinilaw (if you were going to write more about them) to work out if he is using brashness to cover insecurity or if he's just a jerk (some people are just jerks, one of my characters is a jerk because he just is, there's exactly nothing in his backstory that explains his obnoxiousness).
How many more chapters have you got planned? Don't do that face, that's not spoilerific and it gives me half a chance at guessing what you might be able to write about XD
I think I do remember a time from ages ago where I was putting up fronts to try to appear first cool and then something approaching normal. Gave that up after a while.
In the meantime I'm still wondering how the Sachaphoyans are landing in their wingsuits, those things pick up some serious speed! Their air control must be pretty awesome XD

Oh yeah, I think we all go through with that phase. Particularly during our teen years or early 20s. Like we're "too cool for school" haha I just laugh when I see people who act that way nowadays. I wish they would have a laugh when they look back at that time in their lives themselves.
The Sachaphoyans do have elite air control. It's not that evident because of the deteriorated knowledge that Ledd has, but yeah. Since it's the only means of transportation for them, I imagine them having a firm grasp of it. Wind isn't as powerful as water though, so yeah there's a limitation there.
