My flagged posts
My posts that have been flagged
What were these posts flagged for? They earned too much and @transisto didn't think I deserve the payout.
One excuse for the flagging is that I'm taking pieces of my writing (novels) and pasting them onto Steemit.com with little or no effort. Obviously, the words just flop out of my head, straight onto the page ready for me to cut and paste them onto Steemit with NO effort whatsoever...
But this first post wasn't a serialised Blog. It was something I've actually done, an achievement - I mean, how many Steemit users can say they had a hand in designing and erecting (not to mention finding the funding for) a war memorial?
I bet there's me and @s0u1 that can say that. Not bad out of ALL the people on this platform - a *UNIQUE blog post wouldn't you say? Worth reading about? Worth an upvote?
Apparently not, according to @transisto
Remembrance Day
Unique and original content shared exclusively on Steemit - written about how I was involved with having a war memorial designed and erected in my town. Not serialised, all my own pictures and yet targeted by one whale because it was earning too much for his liking.
Serialised Story
I'm writing this exclusively to Steemit (or at least, I was) and this content is to be found NOWHERE else on or off line and it was flagged for earning too much...
Serialised Story
Around 1500 words, all re-read and re-edited for Steemit and shared for free to Steemit readers whereas it's for sale everywhere else.
Flagged for earning too much...
Blood on the Moon - my third novel serialised
Re-edited and re-worked from the original. Not available anywhere else unless you buy the novel. Flagged for earning too much.

Serialised Story Written FOR Steemit
Available NOWHERE else and written straight onto Steemit. Flagged because it made too much.
This is another post that was NOT serialised. I WONDER why this one got flagged?
I'm not sure why you're spending so much time on this downvoting issue. To put things into perspective:
You're in the top 100 in posting rewards out of all accounts on the Steem blockchain. https://steemwhales.com/?p=4&s=pr
You're the number 5 most rewarded author over the past 30 days. https://steemwhales.com/trending/?d=30
You currently have $670+ in pending payouts just for the next 7 days. https://steemnow.com/
But you've now written seven posts in a row about being downvoted by another user. Not downvoted to $0 in potential payouts, but downvoted to $30 - $50 in potential payouts...for chapters of novels that you had apparently already published in the past.
I get that being downvoted isn't fun, trust me. What I don't get is why you need to make seven posts about it and act like you're being victimized because you'll only earn almost $700 so far in the next week.
The votes "from one person" in each direction look like this:
I would say that you're benefiting a lot more from one person's upvote than the other's downvote, but you're complaining that one investor's vote is perfectly legitimate and the other's is not. They are both invested. They are both voting with their stake as they see fit. And you're still coming out of it all with more potential rewards than you would be if neither of them voted on your posts.
My question to you would be this: Do you think that these complaint posts about one user downvoting some of your content are adding more value to the platform? I noticed that you haven't declined any payouts, if they were just PSAs trying to get the word out.
I agree with @ats-david on that one - even I lose some friends here on the platform but these ongoing whining and postings on a very high level because of some flags is bullshit.
Excuse my ignorance but I thought downvotes by a user with a lower reputation than you had no impact. Not sure where I read or heard that but that was my impression. You clearly seem to know how the DV stuff works - can you point me in the right direction to find enlightenment on this topic?
Downvotes from users with a lower rep than you have no impact on your rep, but they still affect payouts.
Thanks. I see now this is mentioned in the FAQ - I hadn't thought about post by post impact, just overall reputation.
Sad to hear this!!
You are one of my favourite writers..
Thank you, that's very kind of you.
This post has been ranked within the top 80 most undervalued posts in the second half of Nov 20. We estimate that this post is undervalued by $11.58 as compared to a scenario in which every voter had an equal say.
See the full rankings and details in The Daily Tribune: Nov 20 - Part II. You can also read about some of our methodology, data analysis and technical details in our initial post.

I sure hope that it all gets straightened out. We have a good thing going with Steemit and I'd hate for something to interrupt it.
@johnwjr7 I just visited you since you are so positive. Your post made me laugh and I commented on it.
I too hope everything gets straightened out. We'll have to wait and see.
I saw that. It was my UFO post. I hope to have some more of those short ones tomorrow. It's almost midnight here in the Philippines.
I'm sure it'll blow over :)
I just don't get it, while Steemit is appreciate originality and high quality content which lead to get the rewards that hopefully at least equal to the efforts. So, what is wrong with a lot of rewards? What they did to you is totally opposite to the Steemit vision and missions itself.
Because these investors are intent on garnering those rewards themselves. Seeing content creators achieving greater rewards than their manipulations of the rewards pool causes them to flag that content, so they can maximize their ROI.
You are correct, it is financial manipulation, and it is an existential threat to Steemit - as stated in the white paper.
Bullseye!!!
This is absolutely horrifying. I'm so sorry, Michelle.
I could not feel worse if it was happening to me.
At the same time - I'm following two other posts from other steemers also being flagged for content the big guys don't like. All this week.
Finally the whales come out to make an impression on the minnows.
Instead of upvoting, interacting, and improving things - no - we get more turmoil and more bad feelings in this nuthouse.
Hang on - honestly - I like what @michelle.gent is writing but that is not the topic of this discussion, if someone feels to flag it this is all allowed - I dealt with flags a lot - I do not understand what all these discussions are about. No matter if I agree what @transisto is doing - he has the right to do it - i had arguments with him too already and got flag where i was in disagreement. But that is the system and in that case I trust the system. He is an investor - different view as a content creator - it will all be balanced but I do not understand why someone posts 7 articles about the topic.
Hmm... Ok - I see that point. I need to just crawl back in my minnow hole :)
At least I know to never engage that particular person for any reason.
No need to crawl back - everyone can express their opinion, that is perfectly fine! I am posting about this as it really pisses me off a bit now and i decline payout too. I love you, you know that - everyone can express their thoughts but they also need to understand other people might have other opinions.
Aw, my tsusers. What would I do without you! Big hugs to you, Uwe.
I need to put my head down and post my content. This is my goal - not yet realized and ongoing. 7 out of 10 Americans are still fat and it's getting worse so my life is a big effing fail anyway. And now I'm being distracted by the Mean Girls of steemit!!!!!
Michelle was the third person - and now I have a few more - telling of recently being flagged - like in the last days. There's post after post about it if you want to look.
I guess the flagging team was on a rest and got back to work a few days ago. I had no idea you were all up here scheming and ratting each other out for fun times. Steemit is non-intuitive, but jeez....
REQUEST: Can someone make a list of all the ways you can make these people mad and how to not do these certain things? Do they publish their guidelines? I found out they snitch through wallet tranactions which really took the cake for me today!
Maybe they could publish :
The Steemit Mean Girls Red Paper
47 dense pages of stuff not to do or you will be crushed
I might possibly read that one.
I rarely hear from or of the big guys - but when I do - it's never good. It's always some explosion of haterade and upset. So sorry for everyone!
Until just now - I did not realize this flagging was an ongoing thing up in the ranks. Holy cow this place gets more disturbing the longer I'm here.
It's like Lord of the Flies where the children are let loose on the island to kill each other. I feel privileged to be watching and since I never make money at anything I guess have no fear of the flag fairys unless they decide my content is not up to snuff. Maybe it would help if everyone would try Dry Skin Brushing with my affiliate link! Or you could just shoot me.
I love you too, Uwe - and always have such fun seeing you on any platform :)
Please write that Red Paper! ;)
LEL
All my internets to you!
Thank you! I think it's perfect when movies fit life. I'm glad to see this mess seems to be blowing over. Everybody needs to just play nice and hug it out.
And I think they need to write this paper. Just tell us what you flag so we know. Hello! I do all kinds of stuff on the internet. I can't be expected to understand selective censorship in a censorship-free place I thought.
All of the sudden I find out Xenu is here this week. Seriously, I'm just trying to get my message out. The complexity of steemit is so diverse.
I want to put more alt health info here - hopefully big pharma won't show up with some big money.
It's a shame I've ended up on the wrong side of a few whales for standing my ground and protesting about flags on good work.
Hang in there - I have been so impressed with your work even though we are in completely different areas. I bookmarked your "how I write" series. This really hits home to me as a fellow (not as successful) author.
Thank you! I had no idea how that was going to pan out, to be honest. I'm fortunate, you see. Writing seems to come easy to me and how do you explain the technique of something that is second nature?
Exactly - and you did a great job with that series. Very inspiring and I write non-fiction :)
This too shall pass. I truly hope.
Thank you 😊
I reckon the flaggots would change their tunes quickly if their ROIs were so impacted by flags.
That's why Steemit is an oligarchy, and why it won't succeed in the long term, unless that changes. There are other forks, UIs, and similar platforms coming online, and either Steemit gets out in front of the desires of common folks, who aren't deeply pocketed, or their investments in Steem will reflect their conceit, arrogance, and self-absorption.
We will have nominal and uncensored platforms that allow all to speak freely, in time. If Steemit doesn't become such a platform, it will be neglected by users accordingly.
It is no fluke or coincidence that overall retention of users, including bots, is at ~20%, and of all the accounts opened in 2016, but ~11% are still active. This is perhaps the worst retention rate in the industry, of extant social media platforms.
Competition is coming. Invest accordingly. Either grow Steemit, and enjoy the massive appreciation in the value of Steem that will engender, or watch it die, along with your investment in it.
Unlike most folks, I'm not here for rewards. I'm here for a censorship free platform that provides rewards, because that's what the market - and I - demand. I've never touched a satoshi of Steem, and have no plans to do so.
This relieves me of fear of flaggots, since I don't care about rewards.
Liberating. However, I do care about other's rewards, since that's why they're here, and I want them here.
Quit flagging good content, dolts! I agree with you @fitinfun
I am not sure why you are giving in and letting the bullies win. Don't stop publishing your stories: why should you let one person have all that power (not just to reduce payout but to stop you publishing). Ignore him, he'll get bored and move on. You are just feeding him at the moment.
It's really not the money that's my priority. Yeah, sure, it's nice but it's really not that. The fact that my posts got flagged when plagiarists and spammers are not only rife, but making actual money on here is sickening.
Original work makes too much money and needs to be put in its place but copy/paste from google is left alone?
What can I do about that? I can't do anything but post and protest - and that's exactly what I've done. I've written posts that has brought this to the attention of everyone.
You have also caused a community of like minded folks to rally around you, and if you do not 'crawl back into your minnow hole', and give them something to stand up for, you might well be the instigation of the effort that reforms this platform, and silences the censors.
Fortune favors the bold.
Be bold.
Always!
Thank you.
That's big... overwhelming. Thank you.
Yes, and it needed bring up. But what next? If you stop because of one idiot, he wins (he stops you making money from your original work) and all your supporters lose out. He is a worm, not a whale.
What next? We'll have to see ;)
steamcleaner is a shit of steemit this bot flaged post without any reason
this bot flaged my orignal post and said this is copy paste c my blog its down now :(
I wasn't flagged by a bot. I was flagged by a person with a lot of voting power.
tell me that guy id i have more then 200 whatsapp member we will break his ass
LOL no. Please don't do that. It can only damage the platform and no one wants that.
but one day i will break steamcleaner bot ass when anywhere will meet me
Why do you hate @steemcleaners so bad?
Even ten thousand of your whatsapp members wouldn't break his ass. Would ten thousand fleas kill an elephant? Your ire is overcoming your reason.
Read 'Anger' by Thich Nhat Hanh. I reckon it'll enable you to be more effective.
well @michelle.gent I can say that I had a hand in refurbishing and redesigning the setting of our local WW1 and WW2/Korea cenotaphs in the town square.
It's bad enough he's downvoting your fiction work but your other work, especially the Remembrance one. Just over a year ago I received my one and only vote from @ned on a post about a community service Christmas program I run. That vote gave me a nice boost on the post.
If @transisto wants the platform run in his image.. maybe he should go build one. Not try to chase away people who are contributing in a positive manner. Stick around, we need the good folk like you.
That's three people on the platform then ;) Well done and I actually should have realised you'd be doing something along those lines from when we used to chat so much :)
I'm sticking around :)
Thank you :)
good to hear that you are sticking around. not good that you wont be posting with the same level of comfort....
I know, you forgot about me already eh :)
Haha! Not even close to forgetting you :)
lol .. teasing you.
Stop by discord when you can, we'll catch up. In addition to hanging out in several communities I have formed one called, Steemit Ramble, I know, shocking name eh.
Steemit Ramble
Thursday is Pimp Your Post Thursday where authors can share their posts.
Thanks for the invite! I'll pop along soon :)
I feel like he'd make much more impact by just upvoting content he likes. Rules about reward vs. views are better enforced evenly and fairly in the platform. I mean if someone doesn't like that a small number of views could result in a substantial payout then maybe he is actually questioning the whole ethos of vote impact relative to a voter's STEEM.
Maybe whales should not be able to upvote 100% and the more power they have the less the maximum upvote? That would encourage them to do more voting and spread it around (to be honest I don't know what the voting patterns of whales are, maybe they already do this). The same should apply to downvotes too - why should a few elite yield so much power perhaps because they just invested a big pile of $ into the platform or got lucky early on. It just doesn't seem very egalitarian to me, much more authoritarian and as such I think it is fine for someone to post as much as they want about a perceived abuse of power.
Regarding whale votes, they vote differently according the the stake of the votee, generally. If they are voting for a whale, they vote with more than 50% of their stake weight, but if voting for minnows, they vote at 1% or so.
Again, oligarchy rules.
It is for this reason, amongst many others, that I find @transisto's claimed reason for flagging here incredible, as in not credible. If he really wanted to 'share the wealth' and decrease the sucking sound we hear as the rewards pool is drained, he'd be flagging whales.
Does he? NO! That would endanger his precious ROI; his sacred stake.
Money =/= mouth.
@jerrybanfield wrote a post a few months ago about voting patterns. It was horrifying and made some of the whales publicly change their voting after that.
This was when I decided to ignore the whales and focus on the minnows and bigger but still-small fish. There are less than 100 whales I think, and they are all up in each others business. There are about 5000 active people total - not including bots. It's unknown if you can survive here without whales, but I will do my best.
I have several friends actively "sucking up to whales" as their way to succeed here. They are all doing much better than me so I'm obviously not worth paying attention to.
Thanks. Very helpful comment, the kind of good interaction that makes me appreciate Steemit but ironically it's about the bullshit infighting, pandering, and shenanigans of and to the Steemit 1% that makes me question the platform's long term potential and viability.
My best guess, when you build a system that replicates real life distribution of power to the wealthiest then you end up with a system having all the same faults as real life.
I'm with you there. This is more of an oligarchy than out in the real world and that is saying something!
"Shenanigans" - I cannot believe how much I say this word in regards to steemit! I used to never say it and now it's basically daily!
Also, most of the Steem that exists was mined, not purchased, or earned as rewards. IIRC, this is where @transisto's stake came from.
As you say, he got lucky early on, by discovering and managing to get in on the mining we cannot now.
Good nice lines!! But sad to hear!!
