What is Cholera?
Cholera is an acute diarrheal disease
caused by ingestion of food or water
contaminated with feaces of an infected
person.
Cholera, if left untreated, can kill a person
within hours.
Symptoms of Cholera:
-Watery Diarrheacv-giid>
-Vomiting
-Dehydration
Prevention of Cholera includes;
- Boil ALL Drinking water add Chlorine
'water guard or aquatab' - Collect for use from National Water
and Sewerage Corporation taps
3.Wash hands with soap and clean water
after using gg and before eating food - Cook food thoroughly and eat while still hot
- Always thoroughly wash before eating and
where possible, peel before eating - Avoid eating cold food or drinking fluids
packed in used plastic bottles or 'buveera' - Seek early treatment from the nearest
health facility upon onset of symptoms
