An Explanation of the Silence

in #writing8 years ago

First off, I want to apologize to all my followers for my unexplained absence.  I know a lot of you have been following Alfheim: City of Magic and are eagerly awaiting new chapters, and have probably wondered what's going on.  Also sorry that there's no image thumbnail for this post, IPFS is down for me, and that's what I usually use to put up images.

Secondly, I'd like to explain.  I recently picked up a new job (one I actually enjoy) after being out of work for more than a year.  Things were getting really straining financially, because I was essentially relying on my income from Steemit and a couple other small sources, which eventually weren't fitting the bill.  I'd sort of been waiting to find the right job/opportunity, because I didn't want to work another job I hated.

I've been pretty much doing nothing but working for the last 2 weeks, haven't had a day off in a week and a half, and I don't get my first paycheck until the 22nd.  I've spent most of my time either working, or asleep.  I haven't had time to even think about writing or where I'd like to go with Alfheim, so it's been put on the backburner.

The good news is, however, that once this week finishes I should be a manager at my new job, which means I'll be making ~20% more than I'm making now.  The place I'm working just barely opened up, so they're still figuring out the hours/scheduling/employees so I've been trying to be as available for them as I can.

Now to address what you're probably all thinking:

No, I won't be leaving Steemit, and yes, I'm still alive.  I will continue publishing chapters to Alfheim (and possibly other posts), they just might come less frequently than they were before, since I now have a full-time job.

Thank you all for following me and sticking with me, as well as supporting my writing with your upvotes and giving your feedback with comments.  If you know anyone waiting for my writing, please forward this message to them. :)
