SEC-S30W2: Leyendas de mi pais: The Mysterious Graveyard of My Village.

Assalamu Alaikum I hope everyone is well by God's grace.Today I am very happy to participate in the Steemit Engagement Challenge Season-30 Week-2 hosted by the honorable @marvinvelasquez . The theme of this challenge is “Leyendas de mi país”, that is to share a legend or mysterious story from your country.Bangladesh is a country rich in culture and tradition. Many old stories, folktales and mystical beliefs have been passed down from generation to generation in our countryside. A variety of beliefs can be found among people, especially regarding death, cemeteries, and unseen forces. Some strongly believe in them, while others consider them to be superstitions.

Today I will share an incident that is related to a belief prevalent in our village. It is said in our area, if someone dies on Tuesday or Saturday, then that grave has to be guarded for seven days.I didn't really believe in such things before. But an incident that happened near our house a few months ago changed my mind.

This story is based on a real incident that happened in our village.

The Incident That Happened Near Our House

About four to five months ago, a respected old man in our area, whom we all called Dada, passed away. He was a very good man, so the whole area mourned his death. He died on Tuesday. He was buried in the cemetery next to our house after completing all the funeral and burial according to the rules of Muslims. After the burial, everyone goes back to their homes and mourns. It was late at night, so everyone slowly went to rest. But suddenly a strange thing happened. My grandmother suddenly became very restless.

He couldn't quite figure out why, but he had a feeling something might be happening in the cemetery. So he asked my uncle and some others to visit the graveyard. They hurried there. On reaching the cemetery, they saw a horrible scene. In the darkness of the late night a completely naked man enters the cemetery and moves towards the new grave.Seeing the uncles approaching, the man quickly ran away in the other direction. They tried to catch him, but in the darkness he hid behind the trees and was never seen again. Then everyone will understand,If the uncles had delayed a little more, there might have been a great loss.

Why Do People Do Such Things?

After this incident many questions arise in my mind. I try to understand why someone would do such a thing.Later I came to know from the elders that some people use human skulls for black magic or Tantra Mantra. People believe that some poets or tantrasadhaks try to do various evil deeds by using these. Many people think that these are used to make people crazy or to harm them.Whether this is true or not is debatable, but this incident shows that such beliefs and practices still exist in some parts of society.

This is why it is customary in our area that if a death occurs on a Tuesday or Saturday, the grave must be guarded for seven days.So after that incident, our family and local people guarded the grave for seven consecutive days.

This incident changed my perspective a lot. Earlier I thought such beliefs were just superstitions or old folktales. But after witnessing this incident, I realized that sometimes there may be real events behind some legends. Even today the cemetery next to our house feels very calm and natural during the day. Surrounded by trees and open fields, the place creates a very peaceful atmosphere. But whenever I remember the events of that strange night, and think of the mysterious man who ran away in the dark, it seems that there may be some hidden truth in some of the legends.
This is why there is still an old belief in our area. If a person dies on a Tuesday or Saturday, that grave should be guarded for seven consecutive days. The elders of the village think that by doing this, no ill-intentioned person can damage the grave. After that incident, our family and some local people guarded the grave for seven consecutive days.So that no incident happens. And the memory of the incident of that night remains deep in our minds.

Hi, @samsunnaharsuity

It's a pleasure to see that you've accepted my challenge, welcome! Here is your evaluation:

It is an interesting story. Unfortunately witchcraft has a following and they love to get these "trophies" to do what they want.

Get in the habit of giving context to the images, adding a caption underneath or a note so you know what it has to do with the content of your story.
