Hello My Steemain Friends ,
Today I am writing about an interesting Steemit Engagement Challenge S30- W5: which is all time my favourite topic ""Expressing myself through writing. Topic 5: Spooky bedtime stories."" this amazing challenge organised by @marvinvelasquez
Today, I am sharing an incident here that was experienced by a very close friend of mine. Consequently, it is impossible to deny the existence of such forces in this world—forces we have often read about in stories and books. I, too, am generally a skeptic; however, occasionally one hears of events so compelling that, despite oneself, one is compelled to believe. And to be honest, I am deeply terrified of such powers.
"The Soul"—sensing the presence of a deceased person's spirit is a truly terrifying experience. In my childhood, whenever such stories were told, my mother would often remark that it is best if the souls of the departed remain in their own heavenly abodes. Just a few months ago, my friend Ankit confided in me that he frequently senses the presence of his late mother's spirit.
Ankit's mother had been deeply anxious about his marriage. She had waited with great anticipation for the day Ankit would tie the knot. However, she suddenly fell ill and passed away. Consequently, everyone in the family remarked that, "If only she could have witnessed Ankit's wedding, her soul would have found peace." Slowly, the days began to pass. Ankit was consumed by grief and longing for his mother; at night, memories would flood back—recollections of their conversations and the bond they shared.
Ankit's nephew, Arpit, was a young man of about twenty years .One night, while both Ankit and Arpit were asleep, Ankit suddenly screamed out in his sleep. Arpit woke up with a start and saw that Ankit's head was slightly elevated, as if someone were pulling him by the head. As Ankit continued to scream in sheer terror, Arpit attempted to pull him back by his legs. However, he was unable to do so; it felt as though some invisible force was pushing against him.
Arpit was terrified, despite being a naturally fearless young man. He could not comprehend what was happening. All he could see was that someone—or something—was dragging Ankit away. Arpit was paralyzed with fear. A short while later, when Ankit finally woke up, Arpit recounted the entire incident to him—describing exactly what had transpired. Ankit then replied, "Yes, I felt it too—it felt just as if someone had cradled my head in their lap." Both of them were terrified.
Then, two nights later—while both were asleep—Ankit felt as though someone was stroking his head. He sensed someone caressing his hair and sitting right beside him. His mind immediately raced to the thought: "Oh! My mother has returned." He tried to open his eyes, but he couldn't; he tried to turn his head and look back, but he was unable to do so. It was as if his eyes and head had been frozen in a single position, leaving him with nothing but the sensation of the presence.
When he shared this experience with everyone in the house, they all reassured him, saying, "There is nothing to fear. Your mother simply came to show you her love. She is longing to be near you." Upon hearing these words, tears welled up in everyone's eyes.
A few months later, Ankit got married. A photograph of his mother was placed in their room, and when his wife arrived, she, too, paid her respects to it. However, Ankit's wife frequently sensed a presence; whenever she took her afternoon nap, she felt a shadowy figure passing through her room and heading toward the prayer room. She shared this experience with everyone in the household. Upon hearing this, everyone in the house felt their skin crawl with fear.
At first, she was frightened by the thought of someone—clad in a white sari—walking past her bed toward the prayer room. But the family members explained, "That is the very path she used to take; she would go that way to perform her daily prayers in the temple room." Ankit's mother had always been deeply devoted to prayer and worship. Ankit's wife even confided in her own family back home, and they, too, reassured her: "Daughter, do not be distressed. She has come to bestow her blessings upon her daughter-in-law. She had been yearning for the day of her younger son's wedding."
"She has come to witness the happiness of her younger son; therefore, do not be troubled, and do not be afraid." Subsequently, a special prayer ceremony was organized in the house. The ritual was performed to bring peace to the restless soul of Ankit's mother, and everyone offered this collective prayer: "Mother, we are well now, and we are happy. Please remain in your rightful place. We love you dearly, but we are frightened by the sight of that invisible presence." "May you always keep your blessings upon your child." With such prayers, a Havan (sacred fire ritual) was performed, charitable acts were undertaken, and these rituals were carried out by Ankit and his wife. It was only after this that they finally ceased to sense the presence of his mother's soul.
For a soul is an invisible force—one that people are curious to learn about, yet do not wish to actually experience.
I want to invite my friends to take part in this contest: , @sur-riti , @suboohi , @sduttaskitchen"
