According to legend, Lu Ban was the smartest and most capable craftsman in ancient my country. His original name was like a public defeat. Because he was a native of Lu in the late Spring and Autumn Period, Lu Ban became the title of his descendants.
Once, he came to the city of Wu Guogu Su, a paradise on earth, and he really deserved his reputation. The towers of the ancient city are arranged in second order, and the teahouse and wine shop are very lively. Luban’s outings multiplied, and he was fascinated by the characteristics of Suzhou architecture. Suddenly a loud noise came. Lu Ban followed the prestige, and saw a newly built pagoda towering high on an empty grassy field in front of him. A group of people surrounded the tower, yelling, not knowing what to do. He walked over slowly, pushed aside the onlookers, and saw an old man wearing silk and satin, a high crown, and a sachet tied around his waist. A middle-aged man squatting opposite the old man, holding his head in his hands, looked dejected. Lu Ban was so strange that he knew what was going on when he asked.
The old man is a well-known local rich man. In order to accumulate good deeds, he plans to build a pagoda, which will be passed down through the ages.
This project was undertaken by the craftsman. After nearly three years of hard work, the pagoda was finally built. But somehow, even though the pagoda is built, it is always tilted no matter whether it is viewed horizontally or vertically. After measurement, the pagoda is indeed inclined nearly ten degrees. People shook their heads and looked at each other. The rich man thinks that building the tower is against criticism and is very angry and damages his merits and consummation. Therefore, he personally finds a craftsman to settle the account: Either tear down and rebuild the pagoda, or straighten the pagoda, otherwise, he will be sent to the government to strictly deal with it.
This can be difficult for the craftsman. If you want to demolish and rebuild, you will sell your children and sell your daughters, and you will be bankrupt and you will not be able to withstand the financial pressure. If you straighten the tower, this will not be possible, because even though the pagoda is made of wood, there are still about one million. Jin, I can only look at the tower and sigh!
Luban took a closer look around the pagoda, then looked at the helpless craftsman, and walked over to comfort him: "Don't worry, as long as you find me some wood, I can straighten it in less than a month by myself!"
When the craftsman heard it, he was dubious, but there was no other way. So he carried the timber and waited with a glimmer of hope. As for Lu Ban, he didn't let anyone intervene to help. He chopped the lumber he carried into many small wooden wedges on inclined planes, and knocked in from the inclined side of the tower one by one, so that the inclined side was slowly raised. Ping-pong-pong like this, after a month of working in the dark, the pagoda really stood upright.
The craftsman asked Lu Ban gratefully: "En Gong, why did you make the remedy to make the pagoda stand upright?"
Luban replied: "Because the leaning tower is made of wood, it has a bucket-through structure, and the pull between the components is relatively strong and can form an organic whole, so it can be corrected by hitting a wooden wedge. The wooden wedges are inclined. , It’s easier to hit inward, it has the effect of'four-two-pull a thousand catties'. After driving in, it can raise the height of the inclined surface of the tower so that the tower no longer inclines."
