Art-Venture Magazine No.262 - maybe the last one -
No.262
Hello my dear Steemians and Art Fans,
Welcome to Saturday issue and this is connected with a lot of different thoughts and considerations that we recently have.
First of all since there are different communities the posts and blogs of Steemians look like a little chaotic room, it makes people confused when we look in post section there are many double posts as people publish the same posts via different communities. That makes everything too complicated, why to publish same thing few times if everything is visible in your blog already.
I remember the time when people were blaming others for re-posting with the creation of communities it is an excuse for people to re-post the same post few times. The communities make people more isolated that reminds me some clubs where you have to be a member and you will enjoy the privilege of it. Like if the curation trial already announced that they curate people only posting from their communities, if not they you are outsider and receive nothing.
We see it while curating the Art and Photography, seeing that chaos it gets us on our nerves, people who are already on "White list"got curated and new comers still struggling to get through.
To do search through Steem blockchain to fine the undervalued works and to check them for possible plagiarism and that they are not recently re-posted, as well as to created the page with the links to every single work that usually take daily 4-5 hours a day and at the end those ones who did not have much even after being publish are not supported by other communities. The same time it takes away so much time from @myskye who still need to work on our restoration project of our home. That is why we are asking is there any reason to continue doing that.
After those consideration and almost every day we were thinking about stopping our activity, that is why in this issue we just wanted to share the thoughts so that people will not be surprised.

and possibly @art-venture will gain more visibility
Hi @xpilar and thank you for the invitation, I have noticed the community that you created and @stef1 is already in, we will see what will be with @art-venture :)
Hi @ art venture
I'm sorry that I just dropped a quick comment here without reading the text of the post. I understand what you're saying here.
I delayed a long time before making a choice to start a community, but I saw the opportunity to continue helping others grow while running my competitions. I will continue in the same spirit as you know me.
What you write here I agree with you, those communities will shoot themselves in the foot. Giving votes to others outside their community is essential if we are to receive the masses.
I see you've got some answers and advice here and can join various opportunities to give curation to the artists you promote. It's great, but it also brings more work for you.
You may have an idea of starting your own community when it comes to the arts and @ art venture. It is also possible that we could have a further collaboration in my community, but you have to make up your mind and spend some time on what you want. I know you guys spend a lot of time on the @ art venture and it goes beyond other private things to do. You need a break, but I'm willing to continue the collaboration and look at some solutions if you have any input.
When it comes to my community, it's just getting started.
There I have to learn how to use it while building it.
un gran honor estar aqui saludos
You are welcome :)
Thanks for mention me!
I totally understand your frustration about the double postings and the splitting in different communities. Maybe a few weeks break and then back with a new idea how to handle it ?
You are welcome @shamangerbert and thank you for stopping by too. We will definitely take some time off and will see in which way it will go :)

I am so sorry to hear this news.
It is really a shame but we do not see any benefits for the Artists, we feel not happy to give them cents for the works and even despite of presenting them that they do not benefit from that showcase. Thank you for being our loyal supporter @slowwalker :)
Excellent artists represented in this collection

Thank you as always :)
First, Thanks for including my work in this issue :-) The support is very appreciated.
Secondly, Don't feel bad about having a life outside this "Venture" you undertook. Communities has throw a lot of people off and for a loop. I would say create your own community and curate through that, But that may create more work in the end. Any effort to do good requires a HUGE investment of time. Especially if you want to do it right.
Maybe you want to talk to @carlgnash or someone like that.. He may have a few ideas for you or you can 'Farm' worthy blog posts from c-squared. They do a Awesome job of researching and weeding out the junk. A partnership of some sort may be nice and free up time to fix up your home.. lol. If I think of anything else, I'll let you know.
You guy's have been GREAT!! Lot of Love for you two!! :-)
Thank you @bdmillergallery for your support and for being so attentive, it is a pleasure to hear your supportive words. In the past when we were including some newcomers and were checking their posts after publishing few of them were visited by other curation trials. So felt our role was important to be an explorer and to help people to be recognized. Recently, there are many of them but despite of been so often in our Magazine and staying positive, producing beautiful works they have still have not recognition that they deserve only with our SP. So that is where we are now, the time will show what happens in future :)
It is certainly a time commitment to do a daily post and curation effort like this. I believe one or both of you may already have joined c-squared and have the "curator" role, but if not that is certainly an easy way to get a boost to any featured art posts that don't already have @c-squared vote on them (actually I think @momzillanc often drops off posts you feature that don't have c-squared vote already, so there may not be too many instances of posts you feature that don't already get c-squared vote). Feel free to drop off any such posts in the #art-curation channel in c-squared and we will hit them up with a vote though. (I am pretty sure you have already joined, but if not just join the c-squared discord at the link in the comment and ask for "curator" role in the general chat channel).
I agree with most of what you are saying about communities, the idea is good but the execution is deeply flawed IMO. I have no idea why steempeak team thought it was a good idea to make cross-posts into a community be their own post, that makes no sense to me. What we need is basically a way to "resteem" posts into communities, not cross post them. In other words, there should only be ONE post, and it should be possible to resteem that post into different communities so it can appear in the community feed just like resteeming a post currently makes it appear in your feed without making a new copy of the post.
I would personally say if you are feeling burned out and questioning the effort, maybe take a break or reduce the frequency of publication. Good luck!
You're perspective on resteeming into communities vs. cross-posting seems much more logical to me. Cross-posting feels like it's just eating up Steem members limited votes, particularly for newbies. From the chatter I've seen, I think we're may see downvote abuse as a punishment movement against cross-posters – which I feel would only make an ill-conceived idea into an incredibly damaging one for the platform as a whole.
Thank you @carlgnash for your nice comment and your supporting words. You are right I was previous on the way to become a curator and tried my first steps but then, it was just taking much time. That was the reason that we thought of creating a magazine and we have had only two of us and it was easy to make a decision who to support and just followed our hearts and emotions but of course making sure that they are new or undervalued artists who needed guidance. Also for short period of time I was a part of @NTopaz too but again it takes a lot of time and we are both really busy so we left it. It is just life, when we want to do both properly our normal daily work and curation properly it is difficult to combine. So now the decision is we still do what we were doing but with just direct upvoting and leaving our comments and guidance and of course we have our own blogs too with my Artworks and @myskye his photography that we still actively keep doing. Who knows what the future will bring :)
예술이 인정 받을것 같았으나 버림 받는곳이 되어 마음이 아픔니다.
Hi @steemzzang and thank you for visiting Magazine. It is frustrating to see that so many talented people do not receive deserved attention, especially now with creating of communities and "white lists" and in some of the communities restriction to "English" language only. That means the outsider will never receive a Big upvote from curation trials, because we include all the newcomers, no matter what language they speak and no matter if they established community members or newcomer for Steem blockchain. We do not feel that it is fair the artists receive less award than the magazine. That is why we decided to stop what we are doing.
