Contest | Importance of Ignorance
Ignorance. Even though this word in our mouths and thoughts sounds not very interesting, it is something very very important in our lives. When we think about ignoring something or someone, most people think we're selfish and stuff like that. That's not true. There are things in life that we have to ignore to be happy. If, for example, you have a friend whom you help a lot, but that person doesn't appreciate you at all, then I assure you that the day will come when you will ignore that person. I've had it in my life and more than once. Ignorance can be positive and negative, if we ignore the people who helped us, then it is not good behavior, but if we ignore the people and behaviors that interfere with us in life, then I think it is the right approach.
To move forward in life, you have to ignore a few things in life. It depends on where you live and so on. You also have to accept some aspects and adversities of your life, but this is a topic for another conversation. Ignorance is an essential factor in a successful life. Anyone who has lived a life like me knows what I am talking about.
Relationships in life are different. We will meet people who will be true friends, but we will also meet people who will want to destroy us. These are the people that need to be ignored. Only those who deserve our respect and our time should be left with us. Unfortunately, it often happens that there are more enemies in life than friends. But it's good because it shapes the character and we know what kind of person to be in the future. Only through mistakes and adversity can we be stronger.
To learn to ignore some of the things and people in our lives, we must first recognize our worth. If a person uses you and does not respect you, then you do not feel happy, but not because of that person only because you do not have respect for yourself. Sit still, meditate, and think about it. You have to be happy and you have to think about some things. I've been through a lot in my life, even though I'm only 31, but I know what I'm saying.

I know what you mean by ignoring, looking the other way, not responding but it's wise to think who/what to ignore when.
It is selfish since it's a way to survive, done out of fear (for example: ignoring child or female abuse).
If someone tries to destroy you it's better not to ignore and keep an eye on the person filled with envy. People like these can 'follow' you for 20 years or longer even if you keep moving and emigrate. They can wait and be like a stick you throw and end in your face.
You're right, too, you have to look at it from just such a side. You never know what kind of person you will run into.
Yes sometimes we need to ignore some certain things in other to move forward in life like you said to move forward in life, you have to ignore a few things in life.
