A Night of Innovation and Inspiration: My Experience at the National ICT Awards - NBQSA

Today, I am excited to share about a remarkable event that I recently had the opportunity to attend. This event is well-known among IT professionals—it's the National ICT Awards, also known as NBQSA!

A few months ago, one of our company's software solutions competed for a NBQSA ICT award. We were invited as a nominee, and I had the chance to join the award ceremony, which took place last Wednesday, the 23rd, at Monarch Imperial. I was thrilled to attend because it was my first experience at such a major event.

The ceremony was organized by the British Computer Society (BCS) and marked the 26th award presentation. It was a grand occasion, graced by the presence of the Hon. Prime Minister, Prof. Harini Amarasuriya.

Awards were presented across multiple categories, including fintech, agriculture, telecommunications, and tourism, to recognize groundbreaking IT solutions. Numerous IT and non-IT companies with innovative solutions participated.

The event featured fantastic refreshments and stunning performances, including dances and songs. The young singer Sana also took the stage, adding to the excitement.

We proudly secured the Bronze award in the Finance and Accounting Solutions category under Business Services. Additionally, our product, used by Sampath Bank as their customer onboarding solution with multiple system integrations, received a Merit award in the Consumer category for Fintech.

The ceremony lasted around four hours, concluding with a delicious dinner. I thoroughly enjoyed every minute of the event. It was not just about the awards but also the inspiration and motivation gained from witnessing the innovation in the IT industry.
