Steem Total Value Powered Up - $36 million - September 18, 2022

This is next in my series of posts reviewing the amount and value of powered up STEEM on the Steem blockchain. For previous posts, see the end of this entry.

Noteworthy in the last week

Week over week, the number of powered up STEEM increased by almost 2.8M SP, or 1 ³/₄%.
Over the course of the week, we saw six daily increases and six new highs, with current streak of 4 consecutive days with new highs recorded.
The modeled value gained ground against all comparison values except for USD and TRX. Changes ranged from -4.4% against USD to +22 ¹/₂% against ETH.
In terms of all comparison values except for TRX and USD, the modeled value remains above its January 1 baseline.
This week (Sunday through Saturday) saw a total of 351K STEEM powered down, which is an increase of 4% as compared to last week's 332K STEEM.
This week saw the 28 day average of completed powerdowns remaining near an all-time low (during the time I've been tracking)

Daily Changes

Here is a chart of daily changes in powered-up STEEM from April 11, 2021 to present. The graph also includes a linear trend line and a 28 day moving average. The all time highest increase (since my tracking began) was recorded today, September 18. Today's daily gain was off the graph's scale, at 2,479,320 SP.

Here are some descriptive statistics, for numbers geeks.

VESTED STEEM

After 14 flat weeks, this week saw a weekly increase of about 2.8M, or 1 ³/₄%, which extended the slightly perceptible upslope, and added a substantial uptick for today.

Modeled value of powered-up STEEM in terms of USD

In terms of USD, we saw a weekly decrease of about 1.6 million dollars, or about 4 ²/₅%. The value is still below the long-term mean, and holds above its recent low near $34 million. It also remains above the low of ~27 million from June 22, 2021.

Modeled value of powered-up STEEM in terms of Tron (TRX)

Powered-up STEEM lost ground by about 800K tokens against TRX or about 0.15%.

Modeled value of powered-up STEEM in terms of Steem Dollars

Up by about 395K SBDs or 3%

Modeled value of powered-up STEEM as a percentage of Steem's market cap

Flirted with 40% again all week, with six of seven days above 40. After today's observed value of 40.81%, we have now seen 2 consecutive days above 40%; 167 consecutive days above 39%; 200 consecutive days above 38%; 231 consecutive days above 37%; 358 consecutive days above 35%; and 421 straight days above ¹/₃. Will it hold above 40%? Will it climb above 41%

Modeled value of powered-up STEEM in terms of bitcoin (BTC)

Gained ground by about 95 BTC, or 5 ¹/₂% during the week.

Modeled value of powered-up STEEM in terms of Ethereum

Powered-up STEEM gained ground by about 4,700 ETH, or about 22 ¹/₂%.

Modeled value of powered-up STEEM in terms of LTC

Up by about 44K, or 7 ¹/₂%. Still running above the historical average, but might be reverting to the mean.

Daily Powerdown Activity

Here is graph with data from steemdb.io to show daily completed and pending powerdown activity. With 351K in completed powerdowns last week and 385K pending (both measured from Sunday through Saturday), we can expect powerdowns to increase next week by about 10% or less. The 28 day average remained near an all-time low since I began tracking last December.

The horizontal lines are the average values for completed (blue) and pending (cyan) powerdowns, and the yellow line is a 28 day moving average of completed powerdowns. "Pending" numbers now come from the Steemit API, not from steemdb.io.

It will be very interesting to watch this hungry-griffin.

Looks like the account definitely wants to have influence on the platform.

Buying from three exchanges and still devouring Steem Power - now at 4.2 million.

Maybe it is related to the Hungry Griffin restaurant in Bulgaria 😀

@remlaps-lite had recently discovered increased activity on the exchanges. I wonder if that has something to do with it.
Actually, I don't think the amount was just bought. That would probably have been more noticeable in the price.
Could it have something to do with the STEEMs that were recently returned from the pre-fork period? Questions about questions... :-)

Looks like he's continuing his purchases. His SP is currently 4.99M. I hope he has good intentions. But even if he delegates all his SP to a bot, removing 5 million STEEM from the market is great.

steem price is now waving in a short range for a long time. I think it will be good to invest here now. Steem can give one the best profit probability and less loss probability. Steem always holds the investor belief. Steem is king as always

I have the goal of accumulating 1,000 SP and I work constantly to achieve it , having a good voting power I like it , but my opinion is that it does not guarantee your followers , I mean , there are users who have many followers , however the loyal ones are less of the amount that appears , so I 'd rather have a few loyal followers and I 'm obviously loyal to them , than a large amount that appears occasionally
