Warner Music Group is building its own superfan app and Universal Music Group acquired a stake in Complex through a takeover focused on superfans and e-commerce. In short, the monetization of superfans is currently on the agenda of music industry giants. According to the statements made, their aim wil be to strengthen the artist-fan relationship and grow the pie for all artists. This is truly one of the most important agendas of the music industry and those who develop the app that will be a better solution for artists will be a bigger brand.

Vault is a very new platform and was launched today, March 20, 2024, and on its about page it is stated that their aim is to empower artists and fans. And "With Vault.fm, artists can share their unreleased tracks directly from their vault to their fans and tap into a new recurring revenue stream." In short, in amongst all the talk of superfans, the Vault platform allows artists to target them without including their record labels.

Fans pay $5 every month to unlock it, and the platform also includes features for fans to chat and post comments about tracks.

The Vaultfm platform is quite new and it is not possible to make an evaluation about it yet, but I think it is a very smart initiative.
