It is spring time and what we usually notice in Spring is the city becomes loud and busy. Once it is starting to get lighter outside we hear sounds of seagulls. They are not really good singers that is why their voices are very special and no melody at all.
This time of the year, in spring they are making nests and that is why they are more on the roofs and trying to make nests from anything like soil, moss sometimes dry stuff. That all gathered on roof and often that could block the rain gutter.
For us, we have to call every year roofers to clean our roofs and no matter what we do in spring the gutter is almost full with rubbish and water is not draining well.
I remember last couple of years we had nests and there were at least two little seagull chicks, both times they survived. Of course, it is nice to see that the birds are growing and become strong. On other hand we do not like to have those seagulls of our roofs because they also spoil everything around roofs, ground and also cars.
In order prevent that this time we installed bird spikes that are wires on edges of chimney but also on flat roof that hopefully prevents them to build their nests. At least we were early this time and we will see what will happen his time. We see more birds flying around but none was sitting on our roof yet.
