The lights are out

I love stars.Most people do.But here's the problem: if you don't live in the Australian outback, far away from any other lights, then the need for light in our lives makes it hard to see the stars — let alone take pictures of them.It's like our need for light gets in the way of our need for enlightenment.So, when a bush fire — which sounds really outback, doesn't it?— burned through an important power line, the city suddenly went dark at sunset.And who do you think spent way too much time on the rooftop fiddling with camera settings?That's me.I had a great time!
