Hello friends, I wish you all good health. Hope you all are well. By God's grace I am also well. So here I am to participate in this season's new weekly engagement contest. This year's topic is "SEC | S20W5:"Planting & Care". So I will discuss this topic in detail, so let's start.

Which season does your region/country falls; and what are the best planting times and why are these times the best?

I live in Bangladesh, there are total six seasons in Bangladesh. These are Summer, Monsoon, Autumn, Winter, Winter and Spring. However, among these six seasons, summer, monsoon and winter have the most influence. Most of the people of Bangladesh spend their summers. All the planting times and reasons are mentioned below.

Monsoon	June-August	This is one of the best planting times for paddy, jute and other crops. Because during this period the soil is also moist and there is sufficient rain which is beneficial for the rapid growth and nutrition of crops.
Winter	November-February	Winter is the best season for vegetables and rabi crops. At this time the soil moisture is correct and the temperature is low so cauliflower, cabbage, carrot, tomato etc grow well.
Summer	March-May	Early summer is considered as the time for planting some crops like watermelon, bhangi and vegetables. But during this period irrigation should be good as rainfall is low.

These times are the best in Bangladesh as seasonal temperature and rainfall significantly affect crop growth and production.

What is the importance of planting trees in the right place and in which places can trees be planted?

Importance of planting trees in the right place :-

Scientists and experienced farmers feel that the importance of planting trees in the right place is very important. Because it affects plant health, growth and long-term survival. Each plant needs a specific type of soil. Some plants grow well in sandy soil and some plants in silty or loamy soil. If not planted in the right place, the plant does not get enough sunlight and growth is stunted. However, without proper watering and excess water drainage from the soil, the roots of the plant can rot. There should be drainage facility especially during monsoon.

Where can trees be planted?

Various fruits, flowering plants and vegetables can be cultivated. If the house yard is large, shade trees like mango, jackfruit etc. can be planted. Large trees such as banyan, mahua, raintree etc. can be planted in vacant land. This will balance the shade and environment in the future. Shade-providing and dust-controlling trees like Krishnachura, Radhachura, Kadam etc. can be planted along the road. Bamboo, bamboo, banyan trees can be planted along the banks of rivers or reservoirs to prevent flooding and erosion.

What kind of fertilizers or organic fertilizers should be used to prepare the soil before planting?

It is very important to use proper fertilizers or organic fertilizers to prepare the soil before planting. Because it ensures soil fertility and crop growth. Below I have discussed some major organic fertilizers.

Steps to prepare the soil :-

First, the soil should be well cultivated and softened so that the roots of the plant can easily penetrate. Organic fertilizers such as compost or cow dung should be mixed with the soil while cultivating. It will increase soil nutrients. Then the soil test should be done to determine the fertilizer requirement. Sufficient water should be provided during soil preparation so that the soil is moist and the fertilizer is well mixed.

The type of organic fertilizer to be used :-

Compost	It is a fertilizer made by mixing rotting leaves, vegetable and fruit waste. It improves soil structure, increases nutrients and helps retain soil moisture.
Dung Manure	Organic manure made from rotted cow dung increases soil organic matter and enriches it with nutrients. It helps in controlling the pH value of the soil.
Vermicompost	Organic compost made with earthworms increases soil fertility and provides essential micronutrients for plants. It is very beneficial for vegetables and fruits.
Green Manure	Cultivation of certain crops such as sorghum, coarse grains, which are decomposed and incorporated into the soil increases soil organic matter and retains soil moisture.

What is the correct method of using pesticides and fungicides for gardening and which pesticides/fungicides can be used?

Choosing the right product and the right method of using pesticides and fungicides in the garden is very important. Because it protects the plant from disease, insect and fungal attacks. However, if proper methods and levels are not maintained, the environment may be damaged and yield may also decrease. Here the correct method of using insecticides and fungicides and some effective ingredients are discussed.

Correct method of using pesticides :-

When a tree is attacked by pests or insects, the type must be identified first. Follow label directions before using pesticides. It is best to spray insecticides in the morning or afternoon when there is no direct sunlight. Because heat reduces the effectiveness of pesticides. Masks, gloves and goggles for eye protection should be used when using pesticides to protect health. The insecticide should be properly mixed with water and sprayed under and around the leaves. Because most insects hide under leaves.

Correct method of using fungicides :-

Signs of the fungus on leaves and stems should be treated quickly as the fungus spreads quickly. The right fungicide should be selected according to the type of fungus. Like insecticides, fungicides are best sprayed in the morning or afternoon. It increases the effectiveness of the fungicide. Ensure soil moisture and proper nutrient supply. Because if the humidity is high, the fungal infection can increase.

What pesticides, fungicides can be used?

• Pesticides include imidacloprid, malathion, neem oil etc.

• Fungicides include copper oxychloride, Mancozeb, Sulfur etc.

What home remedies can be used to protect plants for the roof or back garden?

There are many home remedies that can be used to protect plants on the roof or back garden. They are generally environmentally friendly, cost-effective and safe for plants. As a home remedy for pest control, mix 2 teaspoons of neem oil and a few drops of liquid soap in 1 liter of water. Spray it on the leaves and trunk of the plant. Neem oil acts as a natural insecticide and keeps insects away from the plant.

Home remedies can be used to control fungus. For this, milk mixture can be sprayed to prevent powdery mildew and other fungal diseases. It acts as a natural inhibitor against fungal growth. Besides, lemon juice acts as a natural fungicide. It can be sprayed on the leaves of plants infected with the fungus.

Soil cover is very important for physical protection of plants. Also, sprinkling charcoal powder over the soil will retain soil moisture and prevent fungal growth. These home remedies can be used as an easy, affordable and eco-friendly way to protect rooftop or backyard plants. So I shared my opinion from today's topic, I hope you all like it.
