I doubt if they'll survive your winters, so probably not much to worry about.
I did have some escape their pots in Florida, and as you say they were near my height, and the flowers were gorgeous. But they have shallow roots, and are easily pulled out of the soil, so easy to control.
I love these things!
I still had a couple when I left Florida, but I haven't seen it in a while, so it may not have survived the long winter inside. And we have had a few surprise freezes over the years, which may have done them in if I didn't bring them inside.
