Lol this as been going on for many years I remember back in the day when doing online marketing that those who were teaching people how to set up a business often recommended sites where you could cheaply pay for a few dozen reviews.
Its indeed challenging, from China's Taobao, Alibaba and now to Amazon, Walmart. I think having trusted customer support or a leading figure for a brand that people can engage with will definitely build better trust.
