My TrailCam: Raccoons, 8-Point Buck, and more Raccoons | October 24, 2025
Ever since they cut down the cornfield, the deer population has fallen, but that does not mean all the animals have stopped coming around. I'm 150% sure that when they go in full "rut" a month from now, bucks will be everywhere. The reason I say 150% is because I plan on luring them with doe urine.
The area I live in used to have two sets of 150-acre tracks that connected behind my house. In the last four years, one of those tracks was sold, and the other saw the two older people in the family die, meaning the land is likely to go on sale soon. Which means the "wildlife refuge" that was once right next to me is shrinking into nothing.
It's illegal to fire a gun in town limits, and no one has had hunting rights here in over 20 years anyway. That has led these animals to basically hide behind my house. I see dozens of them every winter... the herd only grows as the years go by.
At any rate, below are a couple of videos I put out this week. Content has thinned out a little bit due to a couple of malfunctions, faulty batteries, and fewer deer. I expect a major change: once all the leaves are off the trees, and the temperature drops.
