growing up with a stepfather, one of my fears was that he would snap and go straight off the deep end. those fears were brought on by his short temper, explosive anger issues and alcoholism. what didn't help one bit was the fact that i was usually the target of his rage. then one day i was way too big for him to just slap around. i went to school with a black eye. he went to work missing a few teeth and a busted jaw. that day was the start of a whole new ballgame!
