Inktober #4: spell - a smiling spell ^_^

in #art7 years ago

Well, it's the fourth day of the inktober (you can read more about it here)  and the word for today is "spell".

I just thought about another positive things that we can add to the Inktober (for people who need to improve the English language): we can learn some new words in English! For example, I had to search the meanings of the word "spell" as a noun to do my sketch, because when I read that word I just thought about the verb.

Just to know, when I'm not sure about a meaning of an English word (you know my mother language is italian) I search it on the Oxford Dictionary on line (for example, here you can read the different meanings of "spell"), so I can understand better what I'm reading ^_^

This is my sketch for the Inktober of today:

Just a curiousity: in italian we use the word "incantesimo" for "spell" ^_^

I also took some pics of the process to share with you:

1) I used a pencil to fix my idea on paper

2) I used the black ink pen to draw the scenes (I also erased the previous signs of pencil)

3) I added the red leaves (because we are in Autumn and so the leaves started to became brown and red) using another of my ink pen

Fast and simple, but funny. I hope you like it ^_^

See ya soon

I really like the little wizard boy drawing especially those magical leaves I guess he cast a spell on them @silviabeneforti

Thanks so much ^_^

That's lovely. I'll work on my one later

I just saw your sketch! Great!!! I think we can use the inktober to create a sort of illustrated dictionary ^_^

I'm trying to get a different spin on each one, but I'm keen to improve my drawing too.

She's adorable I love her spell of love :)

I think it must be the latin root word for incantation which would make sense, since an incantation in English can also mean a spell.
