Thoth Transparency Post for November 2025

in #automationlast month

TL;DR: In the last 30 days, as a result of Thoth beneficiary settings, the blockchain has distributed 197 STEEM to 175 authors, 228 STEEM to 12 delegators, and it has burned 142 STEEM.

Since the project launch, the blockchain has used Thoth beneficiary settings to distribute 828 STEEM to 705 authors, 781 STEEM to 17 delegators, and it has burned 566 STEEM.

Four weeks after the last Thoth Transparency post, it's time for another update.

As a reminder, Thoth is an experimental AI curation bot that attempts to align incentives for authors and delegators by using beneficiary settings so that the blockchain can provide a #lifetime-rewards stream for Steem's creators and a #passive-rewards stream for people who support the project with delegatons.

In addition to enabling new blockchain reward streams for creators and delegators, this first of it's kind AI service also provides readers with the opportunity to see historical Steem posts that may have been missed the first time around, and also to get single-language English summaries of Steem posts that were originally written in other languages. (Not yet implemented, but it should be easily possible for a Thoth bot operator to generate single-language summaries for readers with other language preferences, say - German or Spanish, for example.)

Thoth is providing a new chance for visibility and rewards to posts that were previously hidden in the >99.8% of Steem blocks that have already passed the author & curation rewards payout windows.

The code is open source, so anyone can launch their own bot. I have a test version running at @thoth.test. The figures below are derived from that test account.

These notes, from the previous post, are still true:

  • Note1: The SP + STEEM/SBD estimate is not accurate before about August, when Thoth was submitting posts with 100% powerup settings. This means that the all-time estimates for (STEEM + SP) are probably a bit too low (and this estimate will stop working if SBDs ever start printing again).
  • Note 2: If a beneficiary is both an author and a delegator, they are reported as a delegator. I don't have any way to distinguish those beneficiary types on a per-post basis right now.
  • Note 3: If a delegator withdraws the delegation, they would still be scored as a delegator in future reporting. Also, new delegations would cause old beneficiary rewards to be recategorized in future reporting as rewards to delegators. At this time, I don't have a way to link the time of the delegation and the time of the post/reward.

Now, on to the numbers and pictures...

Here is a summary table with estimates:

Conclusion

Thoth is for readers, too!

If you're looking for a new way to discover interesting content on the Steem blockchain, consider following the @thoth.test account.

If you vote for the bot's posts, the author rewards are being directed to the creators of the original content, the delegators who support the project, and to @null for burning (All posts set a 25% @null beneficiary. Unlike burning SBDs right now, burning STEEM and SP actually does serve to reduce the blockchain's inflation rate.)

The program also has the capability to send author rewards to the bot operator, but I have that turned off at present for the test account.

I am grateful to the authors who provide the content and to the delegators, and voters who are supporting this testing and development effort. I hope that Thoth is providing interesting material to the people who come across its posts.

Please let me know if you have any development feedback for the project.
