Should be interesting...i like that he kinda emphasized that the token will only be used in app for now.

Nice! I have a wish for both Voice and Steem to rise!

I’m not sure Voice tokens are tradable on market. Sounds like they’re solely for use in-app. 🤔

I haven’t got a chance to watch the keynote yet.
Going by the brief description on the website.

Looking forward to having a better understanding of the ins and outs.

Do you have any initial thoughts?

Mmm... I’m curious.

I see a few potential strengths and a few potential weaknesses.

Tough to tell how it may unfold, though I’m certainly preparing to throw myself into the experiment upon launch - with zero expectations, (a similar place I began with Steemit) - and see what might be made of the opportunity...

... and other than speculation and narcissism, I think they'll struggle to create any actual "value" with this token. Just my intuition, but I think Steemit led a lot of people to overvalue their attention and content creation abilities. All of that being said, the platform could be great, who knows...

How is this something different? This seems exactly like Steem and Dan has called it a" Steemit Killer." Steem has been going for 3 years now. Steem also didn't have a token a sale. This seems like the most stale thing Block.one could do. ;)

Market seems to agree as EOS is down on the news but only the future knows the truth.

How is this something different?

If you haven’t bothered to watch the presentation and deduce the answer for yourself, I couldn’t expect to be rewarded well enough to waste my time answering that question in full when you haven’t invested in the knowledge to understand the dynamics of each system and their differences.

I mean I had, but man, what a brutally rude response. Should I turn to your recent post?

The most simplified explanation we’ve received so far is that Voice tokens cannot be bought not mined, but rather are distributed to contributors of the platform - and are to be used as a utility token within the platform.

You were wrong about it, but rude about here. Bad combo.

P.s.

Apologies for the extra-saltiness. It’s nothing personal. I’ve been super burned out on this place for a while, and it doesn’t typically pan out so well reengaging - as exemplified here...

Maybe because you acted like an asshole? First you exhibited the least helpful internet posture -- "Hey idiot figure it out yourself, I don't owe you shit" -- then you doubled down on being an asshole and yet did it all with so many words for reasons that were unclear.

For someone who got so much from Steem to have that kind of entitlement and lead with that kind of rudeness is embarrassing.

No need to reply, peace be with you.

Maybe because you acted like an asshole?

Perhaps.

Though doesn’t mean there wasn’t anything in your initial message that provided valid reason for such a reaction.

Scan back through the subtext of your initial question. You’d be bullshitting yourself if you’d try pull the racket that it was completely innocent and didn’t contain any prejudice, with which you sought validation of your own beliefs regarding Voice’s relative position against Steem, pulling a subtle manipulative tactic you weren’t even aware of to bait me into wasting my time and energy educating you on a whole host of systematic details you either never had the receptors to perceive, filtered out via your biases, or just didn’t give a fuck about because you were too fixated on showing up in my digital space and imposing your perspective as the truth about the matter.

We both know you could’ve answered that basic-ass question yourself, and had ulterior motives in asking it anyways.

Thus, I remain proudly confident in my initial “asshole-ish” response, and graciously rescind my apology, given that rather than accept it, you lay in further with your condescending judgement.

Bring bullshit into my space, you you shall have it thrown back in your face.

🖕✌️

“Rude” is your perception. I never volunteered to educate anyone on tokenomics models here, and have no obligation to submit to your judgement of stating those boundaries.

On the contrary, perhaps I found it somewhat disrespectful to be expected to spend my time and energy answering such a question rather than you using your own brainpower to figure it out for yourself by taking a look at the details before unsolicitedly delegating that responsibility to me.

...

How was I wrong there? It was stated: tokens cannot be bought not mined...

Hey @rok-sivante I just passed by and saw this news. I haven't gone through the Keynote fully yet but EOS's efforts seems interesting on it. Thanks for sharing. 👍

How long is the presentation? There's no buffer bar. xD

Here’s a version on YouTube for scrubbability:

I just finished watching the presentation. Sounds very interesting. I'm looking forward to it.

The app still sound a bit useless since it can't be trade for now

On the contrary, the app might be potentially useless if the only thing it was good for is trading.

The point of VOICE is not to be another speculative gimmick.

Rather, it's a practical application that's built to be inherently valuable, unsusceptible to greedy players who only view it as a means to game for their own profit.

@rok-sivante, After this Grand Opening and collaboration with Coinbase is showing that definitely without any question VOICE will receive Grand Adoption. Let's see what is hold by future Pot. Stay blessed.

I signed up for the Beta of it. I will see if they actually approve me. It is going to be hard to take down the beast though. As shady and scary as Facebook is, people just keep going back to it. Me included. I really thought Google Plus was going to be some competition for it. If anyone had the backing to make a go of it, you would have thought Google could do it. They shuttered + though and now it is just Facebook again. It is definitely not going to be an easy road. Especially if like some people said, they can't figure out an easy way for people to login and log out.

Apparently, they can’t serve customers in the U.S. yet... :-/

Not a big surprise. Stupid SEC. Good thing I have a personal VPN!

Thing is, if you need a phone number to register...? 🤔

Yeah, I guess I will have to wait and see.
