Ten years ago there were a handful of "craft Brewers" in North Carolina, where I am from. Now North Carolina is the largest brewing state in the South. These brewers also have a cap put on them by the government. If they brew too much beer they must have a distributor instead of doing it themselves. The "distributors" really work for the LARGE brewers. funny how everyone wants a "law" when they can not compete in the open market.
I had no idea North Carolina was such a large brewing state. I visited there such a long time ago and I wasn't old enough to drink so what would I know? I do know there are limits to production for microbreweries. It kind of makes sense if they get special treatment, but I fear that you are either small fish or large fish in that kind of market. If they cut out the mid sized brewers, no one can grow past a certain point to challenge the big boys. Those at the top can continue to be lazy when it comes to product innovation worrying more about advertising than improving their product.

The brewing in North Carolina has exploded in the last few years. some say it is the water that makes for great brewing.
