Yes, that's also a great idea to do before investing: read the whitepaper. Or at least check to see that there is a whitepaper lol. Some coins slack in that department. And yes, that's a great idea and no worries about promoting yourself. There's plenty of room here on Steemit and I'm sure you'll be going into a lot more analytical detail then I do so that's good for people who want to get really serious about crypto.
