Smartcoins are amazing! Their value is pegged to another commodity or currency. You can then buy those to protect you portfolio and take profits. If in a bull market you can borrow these assets using your bitshares as collateral. So you can borrow money invest it in a coin you feel is going up and take profits that way. I moved most of my trading to the dex :) good luck!
