RE: Introducing: Puppy Bot

in #booster7 years ago

I have lots of questions 😀. But let's start with 2 of them.

1 did you code the bot yourself?
2 Based on steem world the vote is only worth $0.08. After curation that would be $0.06. Which results in 0.03 SBD and about 0.007 SP. So either I'm missing something or it is not as profitable as you suggested.

Btw I'm happy to test it

Sort:

Happy to answer them!

  1. No, I did not code the bot by myself. A well known Steemit user, @yabapmatt made a open source Steemit upvote bot which this is based off. I believe it's based off an upvote bot @inertia wrote in Ruby, which is also open source.
    Here's the GitHub: https://github.com/MattyIce/postpromoter
This is sort of a pet project of mine for now and the code doesn't seem overly complex ( which is great ) so I may look into making some minor tweaks as time goes on. So far it seems to run exactly as advertised though.

  2. As for the earnings, I'm going off the price compared to USD. So if you converted out the SBD and SP earnings into USD you get a bit over 15 cents at the time of writing this. Going by the current values on coinmarketcap.com, SBD is worth $4.23 and Steem is $3.61.
    So that'd be: 0.03 * 4.26 + 0.007 * 3.61 = $0.15307

Let me know if you have any other questions!

I get amazed again and again by steemit. This time that everyone can get his own not for free 😀

Alright let me test it. Can I use it both for posts and comments?

Hey! =)

Yes it should work for both. I would recommend holding off an hour as I submitted a small bid to upvote your comment already :D

Is it only for a short time on the market that everyone can get his own upvoting bot?
That would explain why there seem to be quite a bit more lately.

Thanks for the bid.
Does it matter how old my post is?

There's a few barriers to entry.
A) You need to be somewhat technical to set one up

And more importantly:

B) You need to have enough Steem Power to make anyone want to actually submit a bid to the bot. My bot is extremely tiny compared to most. Some bots have literally millions of Steem Power invested in them. Mine has 320 lol.

The more Steem Power the bot has, the more the bot can earn. The bots with millions of Steem Power are literally making thousands per day. Puppy Bot will be lucky to make a few dollars per day.

I've only seen 1 bot that is smaller than @puppybot so far. It's definitely a bit of a pay to play game right now.

And yes the post/comment cannot be older than 6 days.

I'm not sure if bots with millions of SP earn more. In absolute terms they do. But as percentage not necessarily.

Thegoldencobra has only 181SP 🧐
