I think you are absolutely correct about this, the way I see it the whole concept of the original vote was flawed to the core - asking the public to decide on something they could not possibly ever comprehend the consequences of either way - amidst propaganda that was at best misleading and at worst deliberately against the ethics of a multicultural society.

I strongly believe the leave vote was bolstered through by claims it would solve "issues" that are not even relevant to the UK being in the EU, and subsequently people have realised they were mislead which has lead to this deadlock.

Ultimately this is a decision of the informed, with absolute facts and figures to work on - with the best will it is not something a total population could understand and vote on with confidence to choose the best option.

Hopefully the lessons that have been learned will lead to a better future, but right now this mess has caused massive destabilisation that I am not confident a result either way will can resolve.
