It's not a film but an anime based on a Japanese manga about... racing! It doesn't matter if you like it in real life, the series have something addictive. Two seasons on YT, good for hours of fun.
It's great to see how a shy delivery boy turns out to be the best streetracer with his dad's old car.

Initial D

Sort:

I can’t say I’ve actually watched Initial D—I’ve just seen bits and pieces of it while someone else had it on. I remember the part where the father gives him that 'unofficial' training during the tofu deliveries.

I think maybe it’s just not the right time for me to watch it yet—timing is everything. It reminds me of how I kept switching off Nana; I just couldn't click with it at first. But when I finally watched it at the right moment, it hit me so hard that I wondered why I hadn't loved it sooner.

Now, I’ve discovered this amazing story and its soundtrack 20 years late.

You are right. There is a time for everything also if it comes to films. I experience the same also with books. We shouldn't regret we didn't watch it earlier. I wonder if the same counts for people we meet.

So this is the anime inspiration behind all those drifting races on modern racing games.

Can be it is. I can't tell except this series is good (and so are the merchandise).

How have you been?

Well, I could be better but thanks for asking.

I am sorry to hear you aren't doing well. If you feel to it we can talk... who knows it helps, birds of feather or not. Know I always liked reading your posts even if I am late.

You like it, and that's respectable.
