Hello everyone! Sunday is the last day of school for the kids. Since tomorrow is the first day of school, we took them out for a meal. Before we went out, a few things happened. It started at 10:00 AM when my father-in-law called his four children to a meeting about the house. I felt my husband was at a significant disadvantage. Why? Well, it's simple. Previously, my husband and his father shared the cost of the house, with my father-in-law contributing most of the money. My husband had a percentage on the sale, which he didn't get, so he and his father-in-law were shareholders. Then, my mother-in-law passed away, and my father-in-law had the children pay for the funeral and the land for the burial according to Chinese tradition. Now, my father-in-law wants to divide the house shares equally among his four children. He forgot that my husband and his father-in-law had previously shared the cost of the house, so he should receive a larger share. This made us a little sad, but not too much, because we plan to return to Thailand as a family if we ever sell the house. When my husband wasn't feeling well, he took me and the kids out to eat and also went to various places today. We stopped talking about it and are slowly looking for ways to move forward. I think it will take time because we don't have enough money to buy a house.

We drove to our usual noodle shop located near the temple and ordered our noodles. After we finished eating, my husband looked troubled and very worried. I felt so sorry for him. We tried to avoid talking about it and changed the subject. After finishing our noodles, my husband asked the children if they wanted to go anywhere else. He said they wanted to go to Lotus (a shopping mall) to walk around. He asked which Lotus, and the children replied that it was near the play area in one of the malls. So we agreed to drive there. Soon we arrived at the mall, and the children went inside. It was quite crowded today. After unexpectedly buying a few things—a bottle of shampoo—we browsed the shops in Lotus. I went into a mobile phone store and looked at two brands: Vivo and Honor. After looking around, we went to a drinks shop, ordered two drinks, and sat inside. The cool, refreshing atmosphere helped us stop thinking about some things for a while. I knew my husband was very distressed; he went outside to smoke quietly. What could I do? My heart ached, and all I could do was comfort him at this moment.

After we had enjoyed ourselves for a while, my husband asked if there was anywhere else we wanted to go. The children said they wanted to go to Queens Side Mall. They said they didn't want to buy anything, but just wanted to walk around and see the pets on display. Before we went, my husband didn't agree, keeping quiet, and the children thought their dad was going to take them home by then. They also knew what had happened to their father that day, so they didn't fuss and sat quietly in the car without bothering him. My husband stopped at a place, harboring a small glimmer of hope—knowing it was unlikely to come true, but with no other option, he could only hope for a stroke of luck. He went into a shop to buy lottery tickets with his favorite numbers. After that, he drove the children back to Queens Side Mall. My children were overjoyed; their happiness comes from eating and playing. Everything else is left to their parents.

After it was time to go home, we drove back around 5 pm, just in time for dinner. When we entered the house, everything was eerily quiet. My father-in-law and my husband didn't speak to each other at all. I cooked in the kitchen, the children helped with small tasks, and sometimes they would run around in front of the house with my husband while he watered the plants. There were a million words I couldn't express; it felt so suffocating. After dinner was finished, I went to check on my youngest daughter, who was sitting and making various shapes with a pinto. Today she made a chicken, which was hilarious, but with surprisingly long legs! She finished and showed it to me, her creation. Looking at her face, I felt so sorry for her, but my husband and I were trying our best to make things better, to find the best place to live, but it would take time for our family because every penny my husband had spent on this house had been given to his father-in-law. Thank you for reading my article. Today's story was more about sharing my own troubles than anything else. I hope you all have a good day, and I'll see you again in the next article. Goodbye!
