CineAtlas 60 | Week 4 - Object as Character | [ Government Mujib College Shahid Minar / Noakhali]
I chose the Shahid Minar of Government Mujib College as the main character of my video this week. In fact, it is not just a structure, it holds the existence of our language and a symbol of this existence. I went to Government Mujib College next to Basurhat Bazar in Companiganj Upazila of Noakhali and took photographs and videography of this Shahid Minar. When I was recording with the camera, I felt that it has been standing silently among us for decades, carrying the history of our language.

Close-up shot of the Shahid Minar
Mujib College has a very large field where sports are played. And on one side of this sports field, this Shahid Minar stands with its head held high in a peaceful environment. Hundreds of students of the college come and go along this side. And since it is on the way, looking at this Shahid Minar, we remember those heroes who gave their lives for the language.
Every year, when February comes, we remember them through a mourning ceremony. But this Shahid Minar reminds us of our brave heroes throughout the year. This is how Shahid Minar lives among us with countless memories, respect and the existence of our language. We do not just consider it a pillar of bricks and stones. It is a memory of ours, a witness to our history and our silent feelings. Here, silence really comes automatically to the soul, those heroes are remembered with respect.
The main feeling of my video
- In the soft reddish light of the morning dawn and the harsh sun at noon and the shade of the afternoon, this Shahid Minar stands alone but with its head held high. It reminds us that no matter what the time is, our loneliness will not be able to bring us down. We will always keep our heads high. So these pillars teach us a lesson, a message that we have to live and survive with our heads held high.
- This Shahid Minar has created a connection between our past and present. For example, for our current generation, it is a symbol of the sacrifice of the past. It gives us courage to remember our past. This pillar is very important and has kept us connected to the past and present. So we can never forget our heroes and the memory of our language will always remain intact with us.
- This Shahid Minar is the center of our respect. In my video, I have shown through close-up shots that the pillars are standing very beautifully and with their heads held high. I have tried to take this shot from different angles. I have shown that even after time passes, it remains intact. A vibrant place of respect. Here we pay our respects with flowers and remember with flowers the heroes who gave their lives for our language.
I have tried to make these pillars of Government Mujib College Shahid Minar come alive. So I have framed the pillars from different angles. I have tried to make it cinematic in different ways from different angles. So this was my video and cinematic video and photography of today's Government Mujib College Shahid Minar. The Shahid Minar has brought Bengali language to us with countless memories. So today I have tried to portray this character through my photo and video frames with a sad music. So today I bid farewell here, everyone stay well, stay healthy, Allah Hafez.

Evaluation Summary (Week 4)
Final Score: 8.9 / 10
General Comment
One of the stronger entries of Week 4. The Shahid Minar is a meaningful and well-justified choice, it carries history, emotion, and symbolic weight, which aligns perfectly with the Object as Character concept. The diverse shot angles and sad music reinforce the cinematic intention. The presentation is the best seen so far in this batch. A slightly tighter edit and more deliberate camera movement in the video would make this a near-perfect entry.
