Bangkok Thailand City from Above Clearly cityscapephotography
A few weeks go, I showed this view of Bangkok Thailand City from Above in the blue tone I saw at the time. Today I have cleared the view with my photo editing software and you can see a lot more detail in this edit.
I just flew out again today - again in strange sun. I will process those shots when I get back to Bangkok and I hope they will show even more detail.
My entry is for today's #cityscapephotography @photocontests by @juliank.
Losing weight was the best thing that ever happened to me. Anyone can get over obesity and live their dreams if I did.

I feel like a bird)
have you won the struggle with overweight so successfully???!
congratulation!
how long did it take?
Thank you! It took 4 years from the day I decided to lose weight or die trying. I finished with the weight loss in October 2011. I have not have another problem with it since - truly an amazing result.
I does look like a bird's eye view. I would like to circle this city for a few hours sometime :)
Great view! Are you in Asia for fun, work, or living there? Sure you probably mentioned it before, but I have just been going off an assumption and hate doing that.
I moved here in my nomadic quest :) As long as I have a computer and wifi - I can go anywhere. I picked Thailand mostly for cost of living issues and the heat. I do not like to be cold with my arthritis. I had the idea I would travel more, but Thailand took my heart.
Thanks for sharing, and for all the fun photos that are making me want to take a vacation...lol.
This is what I has assumed, but hate to assUme. Understand not liking the cold. Had some xrays the other day. 3 pinched nerves in my back and they confirmed what I knew about arthritis in my hip. My Wife keeps saying "but you used to say you loved the cold" whenever I complain about it these days. She just doesn't understand how it effects the body when you have aches and pains. Keep tossing the idea of a move around, but all our family is here.
I was cold in San Diego for many years! The cold just seizes up all my joints. It is bad enough in the heat. I know it is hard to leave people since I do it so frequently.
Cold in San Diego...LOL. Sorry, that is hot.
We were there for xmas a few years back and we walked out of the airport in tshirts and jeans. People were walking around in winter coats and scarves. We literally had to laugh at them. Then again we left 10 degree temps and it felt like summer to us at that point.
We had about 2 weeks straight this winter already with low single digits or lower as the high. It was brutal cold and was during the kids winter break so we were running around a lot.
I was one of the people with 4 jackets, a hat, scarf, and gloves pretty much all year long in SD.
Now I am really in trouble after 2 years in Thailand. Below 75 is too cold to go outside now.
I did grow up in snow and hope only to see it in a ski resort from now on - if that.
There is something about snow that you just have to appreciate when it falls. There is a simple beauty to everything with a fresh coating of snow...but then you remember you need to shovel your driveway and go drive on the slippery roads and that beauty just isn't enough to offset reality.
Now I really don't like hot weather either. It's easier for me to add clothes to warm up, but can only remove so many layers of clothes.
Definitely can see the extra detail! I liked the photo before, but now I like it even more :).
It's interesting how it changed, isn't it? There is so much in this one that your\ could not make out in the other one even though they are the same.
I have a few more from this fight and now the flight I took yesterday. I was gasping out the window as we flew.
I cannot believe I have a place to post these shots. Such a lucky life I am leading.
great view..it has been years since I have flown. Thailand is definitely some place to visit and maybe live. The cost living is so high in the states.
We have had a frigid winter here too.
How much income would one need to live in Thailand. Maybe with enough Steem we can go there.
You most definitely can live here on it - I am for the most part now. I still have my books and affiliate sales but this is mostly paid by steem these days
People live cheaper than me for sure, but I pay $300 and month inclusive of water, electric and wifi. I have a hotel room in a Thai neighborhood right near the subway. My food and "other" is maybe another $150.
I have friends paying less than $200 for other places further out. Or "not in bangkok" - always cheaper. When I was in Udon last winter, the rent was $100 and the food was half what I pay in Bangkok.
When I left the Navy in 2008, I thought my flying days were over. I used to take a lot of trips for them and I thought that would be the end of it for me. Now it's every 2-3 months. Such a surprise. The trips cost usually about $150 each time and I must take them to renew my Thai Visa.
Today in Yangon - My very nice hostel bed is $3.60 a night. My delicious latte in the airport here cost 90 cents.
I decided not to care or bargain about the taxi this time and took the first guy that came up to me and paid his price. The most important thing to do today was get to the Thai Embassy and turn in my passport before they closed and I just decided to take my chances on the cab.
So the cab driver took me from the airport to the Thai Embassy, waited while I went in, and brought me to the hotel after that. Then carried my luggage up 3 flights of stairs. Cost? $2.16 We arranged for him to help me for 2 more rides and I will surely give him a huge tip at the end. Such a nice man and showed me his kids photos on his phone :)
Leaving the states has been good in all respects for me. Better food, better life, cheaper prices more pleasant culture. I hope I never go back there, but never say never!
Reminds me I need to make trip to Thailand since I have not been there for a while. Good information. Seems a hassle to have to travel to get the visa renew every while but give you a excuse to travel.
That's the way I look at it. I get to see the other countries too. I am working through a list of them and enjoying the local travel very much even though it is quite stressful.
Singapore on the list, I hope :-)
