COMBINATION PHOTOGRAPHY WEEK 17 - YOUR CHANCE TO WIN SBD!
Let Week 17 begin!
So, @papa-pepper enjoys plants and animals from all around the world, so what better photography contest could I run than one where you get to photograph plants and animals together, in some combination photography?
EXAMPLES
Before I get into who won the contest last week, I’ll quickly share with you again what I am looking for by featuring some photos of mine. In the cover photo, I combined a Prairie Lizard with a tree branch, with the lizard being the animal and the branch being the plant. Both a plant and an animal were in the photo, hence the combination.
Please understand, by combination photography I mean that you should combine two elements; plants and animals. At least one plant and at least one animal should be featured in your photo to have it qualify. If your photo does not qualify, or if you do not provide the proof, you will not qualify. Here are two examples.
Besides simply providing the images, I also require that those entering this contest provide a proof photo as well. Two main versions of proof photos exist. One kind features the same combination of plants & animals with a written paper in the photo with your username, the date, contest name, etc. to prove that you took the photo for the contest.
The other type of proof is just a selfie with the animal and plant. Here are my examples for the photos featured above.
Based on the proof photos there should be no doubt in your mind that I actually took the photos I shared above.
WEEK 16 WINNERS!
This was a big week! The post from Week 16 paid out at almost 28 SBD so I rounded up. SBD are still trading at over $8.50 USD each on Bittrex, so the prize pool is technically over $200 USD this week!
Choosing the winners is always tough for me, especially with some much money on the line, but I have finally made my decisions. The Winner gets 50% of the liquid post payout from the Week Sixteen Post and the two runner ups each get 12.5% of the same, which is pretty good considering the high SBD value right now.
THE WINNER
@riandi
14 SBD (just over $120 in USD right now!!!)
FIRST RUNNER UP
@barriault
7 SBD (just over $60 in USD right now!!!)
SECOND RUNNER UP
@davidad
7 SBD (just over $60 in USD right now!!!)
There were so many excellent entries once again. I love that this contest allows me to catch a glimpse of your local flora and fauna. Also, though the official way to enter this contest is by including your entry photo and the proof photo in a reply to my post, I strongly encourage others to make an actual post featuring their entry as well.
Even if you do not win the contest, you could still get something for your effort if you turn it into a post as well. @Matthewtiii once hit the jackpot on a post about his contest entry. His post paid out at over $200 total while he has trying to win 5 STEEM, LOL! Link here.
ON TO WEEK 17!
By now you should have a clue about what this contest is and how to enter, but here are the official rules just to make sure. Enjoy, and I am looking forward to seeing what you can come up with.
HERE ARE THE OFFICIAL RULES:
- Photo entries must be placed in the reply/comment section of this post.
- Submissions may also be made into posts, but it is not necessary.
- A proof photo will also be required. This can be in the form of a selfie with the subjects from the photos or in the form of your username written on a piece of paper in a photo, etc. Basically, you must prove the originality of your work. Therefore, your entry comment should include two photos.
- Users have between now and the time of the post payout to enter this contest.
- I will personally select one winner to award half of the liquid SBD payout from this post to and two runner ups who will each get 25% of the same.
- Enter as many times as you like!
- Depending on the interest in this contest, I may have it be ongoing.
- By entering you are giving me full permission to use your entries as I see fit.
IMPORTANT: Please make sure to include both your entry photo and proof photo in your reply.
TL;DR
If you reply to this post with a photo of a plant and animal together and include a proof photo before the post payout from this post, you may win a portion of the post payout.
LET THE 17TH WEEK OF THE CONTEST BEGIN!!!
As always, I'm @papa-pepper and here's the proof:

My chickens really enjoy the White Fruited Asian Beautyberry.
Especially when I help by pulling down the branches.
Hey Mickey! I've been watching your YouTube channel ever since Justin Rhodes featured you in the Great American Farm Tour. I love what you're doing. In fact, I'm just south of you in Santa Fe and I'm wanting to create a food forrest of my own out in my back pasture. Maybe I can come up for a visit sometime?
Awesome to see you here on Steemit by the way!
Sure. I am up there all the time so we just need to work out the timing. My e-mail is mickeykleinhenz@gmail.com
Nice to see you here, and great entry. I see you haven't caught many votes yet, so I'll encourage you with a few.
Thanks, I was just happy to find something to do that felt interactive.
My daughter named this chipmunk Frank, after Frank Lloyd Wright, because his hole is more architecturally interesting than other chipmunk holes, with a big white rock at his front door.
Happy New Year Everybody! We found a milk snake here in on our farm, Lampropeltis triangulum.
Wow. So colorful
I was nervous at first, these snakes are generally killed on site, due to their resemblance of a poisonous coral snake.
You are brave!
Stunning brother not a coral snake right but close ? Are you well long time no see. Happy new years mate. Cheer$;)
Great to hear from you Craig! The biologists said it was a 'false' coral. It was so nice and gentle that I suggested the poisonous coral should be the 'false' one.
Awesome brother and you as well ;)
jajaja que susto me producen a mi las culebras. Feliz año @ecoinstant
Pueden ser muy asustadoras! Gracias a Dios estabamos con los biologos, si no, no creo que la habríamos tocado. Pero esta falsa coral no es venenosa ;p
So scary, nice!
I used to have one as a pet... but I got high, put him in my pocket and went for a drive... somehow I managed to lose him by doing that.... I sure don't miss my pointless life of those days.
Here's my entry
Proof of entry
Oh, is that a snail? Looks like a nice beach!
Snail related but its sea shells, thanks.
And because I am no @papa-pepper, I kept a safe distance. Lol! I did get closer than this, but taking a selfie with it? With my back turned? I was nervous. Hahaha!
Incredible! We have these armadillos here, we call them gures locally; they are nearly impossible to get good sightings because of our steep slopes, they roll into a ball and roll right down the mountain!
Great shots!
Thank you! I had a lot of fun watching it. I think (though, I’m not sure) that they look more mean than they are. I never got to see it roll! Haha! It did dig very quickly, and sling dirt quite a distance.
I'm not always sure about meanness, but the only thing I've ever seen them do is run/roll away. When they ball up, they push off every revolution with their powerful tail. Its a pretty amazing sight!
I would love to see it! Maybe you could capture video of it sometime?
Thats an armadillo?
Yes! I’ve never seen one up close, until yesterday.
Meet this creepy beauty.....

Woah! Have you seen it snacking on anything?
Nope... unfortunately, we had to force it to set up web somewhere else as it was being attached to the outside couch ;)
So good to see you here! Thanks for entering!
This weeks entry a tiny lady bug..
It really needs a good zoom in to get a grasp of her tiny beauty..
And then she flew away...
Cheer$;)
Bird by the sea. Sandringham, Melbourne, Australia.
It was very hard to get the photo because the birds tend to fly off as soon as you get too close. I have circled the bird so you can see it more clearly.
Your paint skills are marvelous! :)
Haha. Thanks!
