In pediatric emergencies, short actionable phrases can save time—and lives—by directing attention to oxygenation first.

In pediatric emergencies, seconds matter.
When heart rates drop, the most common underlying cause is often hypoxia—not a primary cardiac problem.

Kathy Dureault’s teaching phrase, “Bag them out of Brady,” works because it removes hesitation.
It tells learners exactly what to do first: restore oxygenation.

This is not oversimplification.
It is thoughtful education that respects how humans think under pressure.

One line for Nurses and Learners:
Good teaching speaks before panic does.
