Well here in the states where I live server & watiter/waitress are interchangeable. Meaning, there is not much of an argument over which term is preferred.
You are right ... I looked it up .. in England, server may have a negative connotation, specially in Food and Catering ... my apologies ...
Your real just fine, just expressing your opinion. I understand. I’m glad you were able to find good information that allowed you to understand where I was coming from with my statement.
