It's Hot So I Am Rambling!

the heat rises and with it my focus wavers,
looking for inspiration,
something to tickle my imagination,
Some words that dance a merry tale,
that create spirals of magic
that takes us down this intoxicating trail.

Sometimes I just sit and let whatever needs to come out, come out!
To let my fingers take me on this merry dance, to follow wholeheartedly, so happy that my mind can rest, or so it seems.

Sitting here in my truck, nestled in the mountains, surrounded by the noise of birds that seem to be circling my home. I wonder what tales they have to tell. I wonder how they view this world, if they take notice of what we do. Of course some of us like to think that they do, because we are all important in the grand scheme of things. But rather they notice the impact we have on their home.

I hear them walking on the roof now, as they swoop down from the olive trees that surround me. I can only imagine how beautifully simple their lives are. But how much more difficult it may become for them also.

Even with 3 cats, those birds still love to come very close to the door and sometimes it looks like they will actually venture inside.

As I sit here writing and occasionally looking out the window, I already see some new oranges forming on the trees, it always surprises me how hardy they are. That they can still, produce so much fruit, after these hot dry summers. But then again they have strong roots. Roots that hold onto water, to nutrients, that sustain them. It makes me wonder, How strong are my roots?

How much thought, how much attention do we give to having strong roots within ourselves. How so many today live more on the surface, too scared at times to dig deep and listen to and embrace who they really are. So that when challenges arise, they can let their root self, their inner self carry them.

How many look for external solutions?

We all need strong roots and we need to stay connected to those roots at all times.

It feels really hot today, everything feels too much like a chore. It's too hot to be outside, to hot to be inside and yet it is still only June. The heat will continue to rise and what then?
Then, well then I will adapt, I always too, I suspect I will live in a bucket of water, with my 3 girls. It will have to be quite a large bucket though to fit us all.

So now, now I dream of water, an endless supply of water. I dream of the ice cold rivers, That I bathed in, in France, too cold to swim in, but oh so perfect to cool you down. Water that invigorates you, that opens up your senses that are so sluggish now from the heat.
Of course my body knows what it is doing, it needs to slow down, because it does not want to overheat. So I must slow down with it. But there are so many things I wish to do.

Even my laptop is starting to get a little too hot, which is never a good sign. Perhaps I should just turn it off for a while and return later. Or perhaps this is where my rambling stops.

this trail of thought that leads me away,
that seeks out the coldest places to play.
It is over before it can even begin,
for all that I seek I hold within.

I was thinking where's the water (?) before I got to your dream about icy cool running water. Lol. So my question is, where's the water? There's got to be some water somewhere nearby, though perhaps not running and icy cool. It's about to heat up in Southern Cali here, so I'm taking my kids to the beach. Cool water is just a dunk away! 😃

there is a river at the bottom of the track, but it is too hot to walk there during the day, got to wait until it cools down somewhat. Hope you enjoyed the beach xx

The heat has a tendency to destroy my clarity too, which is fleeting at the best of times anyway.

I love your writing about the birds in this post. I always watch birds and try to vibe off their perfection of intent during flight. It's like they're perfectly expressing their purpose in motion. I'd like to be reincarnated as either a bird or a dolphin.

Get yourself a bucket of water trucklife-family and dunk your feet in it. That usually does the trick for me 😉🔥☀️

thank you @raj808 that's a great idea put my feet in water, I will have to do that tomorrow xx

I love the way extreme heat changes things - mindsets - circumstances. We become less busy, eat differently, are less active in some parts of the day, and we read more. Enjoy the positive parts of the hot days, while you have them.
