Stereotypes and empathy
Hello, Good morning to you all!
Today I will bring my opinion on how the media can shape someone's stereotypes and make people less empathetic have difficulty seeing each other more "openly".

source: http://www.updateordie.com/2014/06/25/mapa-do-mundo-redesenhado-a-partir-de-estereotipos-culturais/
It is not today that we see in any medium, be it electronic or television, the media influencing people's heads to think of the way that the owners of this media want, be they the government, private initiative, etc... This issue of stereotypes is overreinforced by it. Have you parceberam that?
I remember at the time of the Casseta and planet(Brazilian comedy Program) in which there were several skits depicting that Portuguese was dumb and was always eating cod. If the person is not reflexive and has a very closed mind, he ends up accepting all these stereotypes and starts judging others without tolerance. Someone from Portugal appears in Brazil, and, several of these people, think of it as unintelligent by the mere fact of being there. Do not know her, know nothing about her, but the judgment is ingrained in his memory, because, from so much strengthening that Portuguese is dumb, a pre-trial can occur without checking any fact.
On the other hand, if the person is in front of a Japanese, you may find that he is very intelligent, without even knowing it, because, has always passed in some place of the media that everyone is intelligent, something that is impossible to happen, because, intelligence has several Factors and each has its own!!!!
In the same way jokes happen in Brazil about Portuguese, jokes should happen about Brazil in several countries. For example, here we have many good things, such as culture, cinema, immense buildings, work, however, when they speak Brazil abroad, the person connects only to samba and carnival.
Have you ever seen the episode when the Simpsons travel to Brazil?
Look at all the stereotypes Americans have about our country. One of the worst, is that Rio de Janeiro is a jungle and people walk in the midst of snakes.....
I remember that as soon as they arrived in our country, they were stolen by a cabbie with the face of "Carioca rascal." Television shows were only women dancing in a very sexual way, everyone in Rio de Janeiro is a thief, everyone there knows how to play football. There's a scene where people inside a hotel start playing football out of nowhere....
This is the presenter Xoxochitla, satire made to Xuxa.
People could get anywhere if they danced conga in a row .....
This case of Brazil may seem silly, but you can see how foreign countries think about us, that here, it is a land of nothing but mess. This may undermine the chance of individual or collective evolution of people in Brazil. For example, in the collective field, even if a company of ours is very serious and follows a high standard of work and quality, it may have difficulties to close a deal if a Japanese company enters the dispute. The stereotype that Japanese people are very correct and rigorous at work and that in Brazil there is only a lot of clutter lies in the minds of the negotiators and creates a biased bias in them when it comes to choosing who they want to deal with ....
We ourselves create stereotypes about our people. Look at the example of the word blond (which should be blonde).
You think it's silly, but for a beautiful blonde girl, to walk into a company and prove that you're not just there for beauty is a complicated thing. People tend to judge her as incompetent, without even knowing her. I imagine, from the things I've already observed, that the energy expenditure they will have to prove these things is enormous. For example, if she gains a promotion in the company in dispute with other people and all are competent, looks crooked to her will be given, and can create even a sense of guilt, because, this blonde girl is going to feel pressured and even question herself If you deserve to be in that position,
These questions may seem silly, but stereotypes generate deaths, even. Search inside your mind about stereotypes that can faer a person get a bad view of an immense group of people if they are harassed. If we stop to think, they exist....
I thank you all for reading and I will be happy for the comments.
Thank you and Good morning

I feel you @julisavio this is happening everywhere i think. Just like in our country(Philippines) the big Television network dictates what's cool and what's not, plus they also mold the minds of the people towards our political decision. Average people will not recognize this manipulation activity and the people who benefits will continue to control us in the form of entertainment. This is something i am truly concern about. For a developing country like us; people really needs an entertainment to prevent in getting so exhausted through stressful life just to make ends meet and I am just hoping that no one is interfering us from getting a substantial information for becoming a better person. There's an adage "the rich are getting richer while the poor are being multiply" oligarch alarm! Sorry if I vent a little, i know my comment is quite irrelevant to the point you are trying to make so please excuse me. I just want to know, what do you mean by parceberam?
Greetings, dear Gavincy13
I was very happy for your reading and comment. I live in Brazil and I see that in your country the same thing happens here. I think it happens all over the world. Perhaps in some countries there is a minor incidence, but it does happen anyway.
Your comment was a little different from my writing, but it's always welcome. The issue of entertainment is very good for everyone, because it is a rest of the world of work. It is only necessary to take care with the manipulation of the mind of the people that can occur in this entertainment.
Sorry about the word "parceberam." I'm Brazilian. First, I write the text in the Portuguese language and then used the help of Bing translator to put in English. The correct word in Portuguese is perceived and not "parceberam ", so the Bing translator failed to translate.
It is really important to be open minded and not let stereotypes shape our perception of groups of people. I agree with you that the media bends and shapes other culture's beliefs and traditions and if you take it at face value, you will end up judging those cultures and their beliefs.
I think the world would be a better place if everyone was more open minded and took the time to learn about another cultures!
Great post!
That's right, Miss Anne.
I agree with your words. Thank you for reading and commenting!!!
The impressive thing about this issue, is the impact it causes on people, no matter how professional you are at the academic level, but you are able to think freely or let others do it, that will cause clashes in your environment and possibly in your social life even reaching Losing friends or family for those radical ways of thinking
off course, gvand. Thank you for read and coment!!!
This is so true! I think this goes for every country. Some probably a little more than others. And we always judge people by their experience and how they look like. It's sad but it is true..
Good evening, Miss Lovablesoul
Yes, that's right. Sometimes our judgment may be right, but there's a chance we're making a huge mistake!
Thank you for reading and commenting!!!
yes exactly!
You're welcome
This is a world of individuals and individuals should not be victims of the stereotype created by people similar to the individual. We should always try to not judge on first impression.
i igree man. thank you for read and comment!
