Interesting read @kyriacos. This topic is fringe thinking. I happen to be on that fringe with you. I've suffered in life and didn't get a chance to "opt out" so the following resonated with me. .

Based on the current state of the world I believe that there is no point in bringing another life into existence other than the superficial satisfaction of experiencing our genes getting passed on. In other words, it is much like patriotism but on a more concentrated level

Your first paragraph too caught me in agreement.

Plenty of people are parents who shouldn't be. You need a license to drive a car but deciding to raise or discard a life seems to be superficial in nature.
