My kind of dialogue!!

“Be careful Mats. I don’t have many friends, and I would hate to lose one of them.”

I smiled back at him. “You have exactly one friend.”"

Thanks! It was one of my exchanges to write in the whole story. It felt real to me--just the kind of thing one of my quick witted friends might say to me.

That's exactly how I felt when I read it! Keep on writing! You now have a new follower.

An always-interesting story @bigpanda. Hope you are always happy to work. :-)

You are welcome my friend.

Magic was good and all, but in a quick scuffle, nothing was better than a falcata and spear.

And that is true in every scenario. You may have all the knowledge and the power and the odds. In theory. But when reality hits you hard, fast, dirty and unannounced, then... no fancy magic tricks.

A falcata and a spear.

I have always thought magic would take time and focus--so in a street fight, a couple of weapons could prove to be all the difference.

Yeah, pretty much what i think. As a martial arts enthusiast, i know street fighting is something very different from showing off in a dojo. I imagine using magic in a street fight would somehow follow the same principle.

Good friend

Yes you are welcome.
