SweetTreats: Veggies, done sweet!
Dieting - or keeping one’s nutrition in check - over the holidays can be stressful. I won’t belabor that point. But... it is highly rewarding to oneself to start the new year off healthy and ahead of the game!
Veggies are a great snack to enjoy with lots of fiber, vitamins, minerals, high water content, low calories, the list goes on. Everyone is aware... but many still find them bland and boring. Try sweetening them up with some high quality stevia, pink salt and cinnamon! If you’re really looking to burn some fat, add some powdered glycine into the finished product and voila... a bowl of delicious sweet gems awaits.
My favorite veggies to use this recipe on: raw sliced Persian cucumbers. Runner up: celery, sautéed in coconut cooking spray, with cinnamon, then add stevia and glycine while cooling.
Stevia tip: it can take some getting used to... it can feel quite bitter at first. Use it sparingly, but don’t be afraid to try various brands. I like KAL Stevia (not organic, it tastes better) and I always pair it with a dash of salt, as one would in baking. Sweet and salty must go together for optimal seasoning efforts! Be creative. Use cocoa powder. Use vanilla extract. Try flavored stevia drops. It’s absolutely worth it to cut out all that health-killing sugar.
