I used to have one of these at home and I'm sure it did me some good. I would have it varying the load in different ways and would get a good sweat on. It just got less use when I decided to try running and eventually I gave it away. I'd say it's better than doing no exercise. It is an odd movement, but you get used to it. After all, cycling is not a natural human activity either.

oh it is better than doing no exercise for sure. I was being a bit mean in my writeup, but I'm just not a fan of them. If it can serve as a stepping stone to "real" exercise then I'm for it, regardless of what it is.

Do you remember Nordictrak? I think that was the name of the cross country simulating injury machine :P
