Concerning Steemit no longer working on your computer, once I ran into a similar problem and the fix for me anyway was for me to install 'mozela firefox'.

Yes, but they censored my posts before, so extra work is hard to justify. I am building a new computer, with new Linex; that should solve it, but I won't rush things either!
So it's a smart phone, for a while....
